Ethereal Enigma is fantastic so far. No, it's not finished yet, but the developer, PixelFade, has made 3 good games now in just a few short years, and they have given no reason to believe that their previous good work is a fluke. They have superb voice acting and there are choice galore, which are common themes with all their titles. If you enjoy visual novels, or want to branch out and give them a try, PixelFade is a great place to start.

EDIT: There's been more updates since I posted this, with only one episode yet to be released. As I mentioned earlier, Pixelfade is quite reputable when it comes to finishing their games with a good amount of polish. I can recommend this game enough.

I really enjoyed ACE Academy. The characters had depth and felt genuine. I like how their personalitites are reflections of their backstories. I also like how the relationships evolve between characters, it creates a greater experience and makes the world feel more whole. The story itself was also interesting, though I felt the ending was a bit sudden, though that's understandable given the fact that this is an indie project and was funded through patreons. Upon completing the game, I found myself wanting to spend more time with the characters and also trying to answer some plot based questions. The GEAR fights offer a nice change of pace and the decisions made during them do impact the outcome of the matches and the player's relationships with their teammates. Despite taking place in the near future, the cultural references included make the setting less foreign while also providing a few chuckles along the way. Overall, this game has something for everybody and I can't think of too many reasons not to recommend it.

NOTE: While I know it's not an actual thing, I would welcome the sequel, ACE Academy: Supernova with open arms, especially if there was somehow a way to use the saves of ACE Academy to maintain whatever relationships returning players had created in the previous iteration. In the meantime, I guess I'll look into Crystalline now, as I trust these developers to create a good experience, even if I'm not much of a fantasy person.

This game has been quite the experience and has made me want to explore my interests and pursue deeper connections with people. I really fell for the characters, particularly Natsuki, and I felt like I was getting to know them. This game, the characters, and the poems they write, has given me ideas and hope that I can maybe create such relationships with actual people. DDLC has also renewed my passion for writing. Overall, this was a great, though heartbreaking, experience, and I would like to give my deepest thanks to Salvato for creating such a wonderful and fulfilling experience. So thank you. This experience has already helped me so much, and I imagine it will continue to do so.
