A truly excellent sequel to the classic Metro 2033. I'm a total fan 5/5

A space sim sandbox with a decent array of customizable ships (all with their own feel) and a galaxy of vast and impressive scale.

Be a bounty hunter, a miner, a trader, be a low down dirty pirate, freelance for the various organisations scattered among the star systems, lie low as a smuggler, fight off an alien invasion, or leave the inhabited bubble and its troubles behind to explore the galaxy for anomalies, natural phenomena or ancient ruins left to turn to dust long ago by the mysterious Guardians.

Odyssey is finally here. Atmospheric worlds and space legs. Once again ED shows its impressive sense of scale with space legs. However, we haven't been given ship interiors. And the atmospheric worlds have no weather effects at all; this is very disappointing - not even a single cloud in sight.

Final word: I'm saddened that Frontier Developments decided to put their resources into fixing a user interface that wasn't even broken, and turning space legs, primarily, into being a basic first-person shooter, albeit with some pretty cool bells and whistles. Also, there was nothing wrong with the lighting effects, but still, F-Devs decided to put resources into ''improving'' them.
I would've loved to see exploration as the main focus, i.e put resources into the atmospheric worlds. Maybe include a couple more ships suited towards exploration and bring the planets to life: dust storms, snow storms, rivers, vast oceans, canyons, cave systems, active volcanoes, clouds, rain and thunder storms. How about adding an extra layer to ship handling when entering these atmospheres. Maybe go even further and add under water exploration. I truly believe this is where their focus should've been, but it wasn't.
As for the space station interiors: they quickly become boring and lifeless; e.g. there's no recreational activities. A roulette wheel or a card game, just some kind of recreation to pass the time while the player waits for their ship to be delivered, or just to relax and kick-back in between missions.The stations should've been made to be hangout zones, imo.

I still think this is a game worth playing, I'm just underwhelmed by Odyssey. But for the hours of enjoyment and escapism Elite Dangerous (Horizons) has given me over the years, I'll award it 4/5

If you want to sit back and relax to a simple game, which has an intriguing story with interesting characters then this might be the game you're looking for. It has beautful visuals in a wilderness that kinda gets you away from the hussle-bussle of regular everyday life. One thing to note is that it's a short game that can easily be completed in one or two sittings. 5/5
