I've played a few of the Sherlock Holmes games and the only one I can truly recommend is Crimes and Punishment.

Nemesis is okay. I just lost interest when I found myself having to run around in search of birds to lure and catch.

I know at some point I'll return to this because, even though I've given this a thumbs down, I do quite like the Sherlock Holmes games. Get it in a sale. 3/5

This game is great fun.

I think it would be better, though, if there was a more personal to life reason to earn a living rather than just paying off a billion credits debt to LYNX Corp. Like, that seems like such an arbitrary goal to me.

It's just a thought, but what about sending some credits back home to your family, maintaining their standard of living as you progress through the game. And maybe there could be some back and forth communications just to break things up a bit; a working class themed story or two from home occasionally. I'd really like to see something like this.

Even so, this early-access game easily deserves 5/5

First impressions: Disco Elysium is a Point&Click RPG with strong characters and a funky art-style, but it can get a bit tiresome with it being so heavy in dialogue. Still, I'll give it an easy 3/5 because where it shines it really shines; namely, the voice acting and the art-style. I just wasn't ready for the amount of dialogue it has.

[Edit] The dialogue is very much part of the game-play and the dialogue choices you make is what will guide you through your investigation and the game. However, it's not just a case of ''good or evil'' options; the game really caters towards the player's own personality/sensibility/humour.

And to add to the player's personal experience, the RPG element to the game is excellent in moulding the path you take through the story.

Final word: All these things come together bringing to life a crime scene investigation that is full of intrigue, making Disco Elysium a memorable game that will draw the player in with its wealth of character, charm and drunkeness. A high 4/5

Dreamy and picturesque with a well executed narration. A must for any walking-sim fan. 5/5

[Edit] It's to be noted that this is a very short game, easily completed in one sitting. My 5.2 hours are two play-throughs. This might not sound too great with it being such a short game, but it could be said - at least it has replay value.

I played this on the 360 originally and I'm very pleased to see it here on PC.

Lost Planet 3 is a total departure from the original format of the previous games. You play the role of Jim Peyton who has been contracted with his mech in tow to work for NEVEC on E.D.N. III. Your work will consist of mining Thermal Energy primarily, but your mech is also outfitted to see to the maintenance around the colony. And more often than not you'll have various forms of Akrid to take down, which you can do in third-person on foot or first-person from the comfort of your mech's cockpit. (The transition from mech to being on-foot and vice-versa is seamless.) I found this part of the game great for just becoming accustomed to your mech and the general feel of the game.

However, there is a story to be told so expect things to go awry before too long.

I really enjoy piloting Jim's mech, it's kinda clunky and with it being in the first person perspective it really feels authentic. Also, the Thermal Energy you earn can be used as currency for buying weapons and equipment and to upgrade your mech as you venture through the game. I definitely recommend this to any mech fans out there. 5/5

My only gripe is - Where is Lost Planet 4?

I don't have any idea where this is going, but I can say it's a point&click adventure with some good laughs.
When I know more I'll let you know, but for now, just for the humour alone 5/5

Otherwise, to those still reading, this is an excellent survival shooter that will have you and your co-hunters/hunted holding on by the skin of your teeth as you go after the bounty to claim your rewards. Good teamwork will pay well.
Although, should things go totally pear-shaped, be prepared for possible rage quit. It can get intense. 5/5

As an added note, the Hunt Showdown community are generally pretty welcoming to the noobs. It's still a fight for your life, but you gain some allies along the way :)

The Broken Sword series of point&click adventures are intelligent and fun, whichever one you pick up. The lead characters are likeable and the conspiracies intriguing. A must for any point&click adventurer. 5/5
