i want to like this game. i want to play this game. i really really do. but...

when the game first came out, i bought it immediatly. i was pumped to play it. i had played 1, 2, and 3. i loved them. i was a huge fan. but i barely got out of the opening scene and into free play. the game made me feel extremely ill. motion sick and headache. it was horrible. i tried adjusting movement speeds and things. it didn't help. the effect was massive and quick. so i gave up and put it on the shelf and mourned that i would never get to play it.

years went by and the new tv series came out. there has been so much hype. it's made me sad that i never got to play this. and people kept telling me that they fixed motion, so it shouldn't be an issue anymore. i had had a similar issue with elder scrolls online when i played the beta... and years later i tried out the game again because people said it was fixed... and in that case, it was. i loved ESO and played many many hours of it. so i tried this again...

and again, i barely made it out of the opening sequence. i had to lie down for several hours afterwards. it literally brought me to tears, i was feeling so ill. this is much more than just light motion sickness from a game, which i have a tendency for. i'm uninstalling and hope that i remember in the future to never install again.

this very quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. expect to die. expect to fail. half the fun is finding out what disaster will take out your colony this time. and along he way, enjoy the story that emerges. the story telling aspect of this game is worth it alone.
