This game seriously needs to be patched. It absolutely KILLS ME to give this game a bad review, but unfortunately in it's current state, I have to. I was (and still am) rooting for these 3 developers, and pains me to see their work of art and passion released in its current state. I REALLY wanted this game to succeed, and I hope there's still time for them to turn things around.

BUGS I'VE ENCOUNTERED:

- If you get killed while trying to fast travel at a checkpoint, your camera gets all messed up, and you teleport in a completely random location.

- After returning to the first area to fight the giant monkey, my healing items don't display properly. I'm not sure if it's because of the monkey, or a lingering irreversible effect from the fast-travel death bug. Basically it keeps saying my healing flasks are at 2, but it doesn't let me heal. Then when I die, it makes them disappear from the slot. No matter how many times I respawn, return to the menu, or close and reopen the game, this bug will NOT go away. And I REALLY don't want to have to delete my save file... assuming even that'll fix it.

- If the monkey kills you, the sky stays dark, and you can't open your inventory because the game thinks you're still fighting it. For the non game developers reading this, please excuse my game dev jargon, but it seems to me like the scene doesn't even reload upon death. The game just changes the enemy states from dead to alive, and teleports you back to the checkpoint. Sure, doing it this way means faster respawn times, but it also opens up a lot of possibilities for things to go wrong. And that's exactly what happened after the monkey killed me. The current way death is handled, not everything resets properly after death. If they simply made the scene reload while saving your data from the previous scene instance, this problem wouldn't exist.

- I clipped straight through one of the walls in the monkey area. And frankly, it's mind blowing just how many bugs are related to the monkey.

- (Take this one with a grain of salt) When I climb onto the giants, and stab them over and over again, there seems to be a 50% chance that I'll just die randomly. I'm not sure if there's some mechanic I'm forgetting about, or if it's just a flat out bug. So if that's actually intentional, and I'm just being a dumbass, please ignore this.

- When I try to unequip an item from the quick slots, it'll reappear almost instantly.

DESIGN FLAWS:

- You can't use items while swimming, the oxygen meter goes down super fast, and the underwater area is so spacious, but there's no indication of anything that will restore your oxygen, no air bubbles, no air in the buildings (at least the ones I've gone to). The game needs to do a better job of communicating to the player what the hell they're supposed to do underwater. Because currently, I have no idea.

- The tutorials are good, but there's no way to re-access them once you make them disappear. There should be an option in the pause menu to re-read the tutorials.

- You can only run in 8 directions. I'm no expert in the Unreal Engine (yet), but I do have a fair amount of experience with Unity. Depending on how similar these engines are, I really don't think implementing more turning angles would've been that difficult at all. If I were a fourth dev in that dev team, I would've done a Vector2 input system (I'm not sure if Unreal Engine has a different name for it than Unity), so it makes your turning angle the exact angle of your joystick. Because currently, when you walk on narrow bridges, if you make even the slightest adjustment, you'll go straight off the edge.

- A lot of the ladders are extremely long, and you can't even slide down them. This game is already a souls-like, so it baffles me that they didn't implement a basic thing such as that. It's so painful to have to slowly climb down, every single time.

CONCLUSION:

If it weren't for these game-breaking bugs and design oversights, this would've been a great game, and it still can be if it gets patched SOON! I'm fully aware that this game was made by only 3 people, and I feel really bad for them, because a lot of passion must've gone into this. If I made a game that I poured my heart and soul into, and it got a bunch of bad reviews, I'd probably get crippling depression. It pains me a ton, that I might be doing that to them. But the cold hard truth is that they jumped the gun way too early. They should've given it a few more months to polish it up as much as possible. I really hope they patch this soon. It's not too late yet, but the clock is ticking, and they REALLY need to haul ass to fix these bugs before people forget about this game.

I really hope I will have an opportunity to write a good review, once everything has been fixed. So please fix it!!! I hope the devs won't be disheartened by this, and I hope these reviews will serve as a valuable lesson for any and all games they make in the future.

I will say overall, that I do recommend this game. However, it's also a very complex game with lots of complex systems. If you're a new player, it can be a massive beast to try and figure out, before you know how everything in the game works. It also expects you to grind an absolute f*ck ton. Some of the RNG is so god awful, it makes me wanna rip the eyes out of my sockets. But then I remember that the game's premium currency, Platinum, is obtainable for free, through trade chat! :D

So then I just do fissure missions to farm prime stuff, and then I sell the prime stuff for plat, and I get the thing I want.
But yeah, this game is also extremely time consuming, like Destiny 2. However, unlike Destiny 2, you don't feel like the game is forcing you to do it. There's barely any FOMO at all (well...... compared to Destiny at least). Probably the most FOMO inducing things in the game are the nightwaves, which take the form of a Fortnite style battle pass. (EWWWWW!!!!!) Fortunately it doesn't cost money though.

This game has a TON of customization options, which is fantastic! None of the expansions cost money either! They're just added to the game for all players to enjoy! :D

Perhaps my favorite thing about the game are the clan dojos! You get to create and customize a base for your clan. It's a really good editor too! Like, you get to place walls n' sh*t wherever you want, and create almost whatever you want! I made myself an absolutely massive menacing fortress with its own state-of-the-art space throne! :D

There are SO many little things in this game that allow you to have dumb fun, and it's f*cking amazing! You can fly around open world maps, like Anthem, but way faster and not in a sh*tty game. You can do can pull off sick ass stunts on a hover board known as a K-Drive! You can customize the inside and outside of your ship! You can play minigames in an arcade machine inside your ship (you have to buy it from Cephalon Simaris first)! You can feed resources to a f*cking gigantic mouth inside your ship, and make it absorb old warframes with tentacles lie something out of a hentai scene!!!!!!! This game has it all!

Or does it? The answer is unfortunately no. If you get to the point where I'm at, where your warframes are so powerful that it trivializes everything in the game, everything goes downhill from that point onward. The main issue is the main way you get more powerful is by obtaining powerful mods. (Sorry, not like ones that you find on Nexusmods for various games. Those would be lit! I mean in-game cards with perks that you collect and slot into your warframe, weapons, equipment, etc.) Once you collect the really powerful mods, you've reached the ceiling. There's nothing left for you to chase, other than increasing your mastery rank (which does pretty much nothing once you get it past 10 or so. It just increases the mod capacity that'll exist for an un-leveled weapon or warframe).

There's nothing difficult in the game aside from soloing Eidolons. And because DE constantly adds new stuff to the game, power creep has gotten out of hand, and the entire game is piss easy for veterans. It's a great game, but I require a challenge! Sure, I could do a bunch of self-imposed challenges. But other than that, there's basically nothing left for me. Every time I boot up Warframe nowadays, I'm just like "Why am I playing this? There's nothing left to do aside from tedious grinding for resources to funnel into my gargantuan dojo." And then I just leave because I don't feel like doing that. But nonetheless, I've had over 3000 hours of enjoyment before reaching this point.

For a lack of a better word, I guess I just beat Warframe. I beat the game and there's nothing left for me to do. But this game will always have a special place in my heart. And frankly, it's unrealistic and unhealthy to expect a single game to satisfy all your needs.

This is actually the perfect game to play with a Dark Souls game. Warframe could not possibly be any different from Dark Souls. However if you're bored with Warframe, Dark Souls shall provide you with the daunting challenges you seek! And if a boss pisses you off, and you need a break, Warframe is still here, so you can rip through countless armies of Grineer, Corpus, and Infested, as if they were tissue paper!!!!!! Make them bleed as you have bled. Make them suffer as you have suffered. Let them bear witness to your unimagimable power, as you pour your wrath upon those insignificant mortal insectssssssssss!!!!!

Because in this game, you ARE the Dark Souls boss! >:)

This game is an absolute masterpiece!!!!! This was my first souls game, and I am hooked fam! This game can be extremely difficult and rage inducing at times. Hell, even the first boss took me a good 14 attempts while I was still getting used to the gameplay. Might take you less attempts, might take you more, might take you WAY more. But never give up! Learn the boss's moveset and learn the best way to dodge each attack. I can't even begin to describe the absolute nuke of pleasure and satisfaction that enters your brain once you finally beat a difficult boss that's been kicking your ass beforehand.

I would HIGHLY recommend NOT looking up guides before you play. Part of what makes this game such a magical experience is the mystery and exploration, and the fear of seeing a massive creature in the distance when you're low on Estus flasks (the healing item). The only time I look up guides is when I get stuck on a boss or don't know how to find the next area. But other than that, it's best to go in blind. Two major walls you'll need to overcome are the Abyss Watchers and Pontiff Sullyvahn. DON'T LOOK THEM UP!!! I only mentioned them so when you finally reach them, it'll be all the more intimidating. ;)

For people who've played the other souls games, DS3 is a lot more linear than the other 2. However, this also means the bosses are balanced better. In fact, there's not a single boss that's hard because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reasons (looking at you, DS2). The boss fights in this game are so incredibly fun. It is a crime that you can't re-fight bosses without starting a new game. The gameplay is a lot more fast-paced compared to DS1 and DS2, for both you and the enemies. It feels a lot less clunky and I love it!!

I will say, however, the story is barely existent from a surface-level gameplay perspective. But the lore... OH MAN THE LORE!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I'd recommend beating DS3 and DS1 before you watch any lore videos on Youtube, because DS3's lore is closely intertwined with DS1's lore, and you might encounter some boss spoilers from both games.

But overall, this is my favorite souls game in the series. I would even go as far as to say this is my favorite game of all time! Unlike many games that exist today, Dark Souls games are still pure! No microtransactions, no RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, no Fortnite style battle pass. Just pure, old-school style gameplay that respects your time! 10/10 (Don't worry, the "Season Pass" is just a bundle price for the 2 DLCs.)
