The Herbalist is a fun puzzle-y game where you play as Slavya (you might remember her from Everlasting Summer if you played it). The music and art are very pleasant, but it should be noted that most of the CGs are ecchi and a couple clearly purposed purely for fanservice. It wasn't that big of a deal to me, though. Anyway, the plot of the game has a charming and almost whimsical quality to it that I quite enjoyed. In the game, you help Slavya create magical potions and ultimately become a Potion Master (and discover the mystery behind her grandmother's disappearance as well).

I really enjoyed the gameplay, especially figuring out how to make all the potions. And food recipes! It's a pretty straight-forward game, but not exactly the easiest. There's a lot of trial and error, even if you consult the help of a guide as each game is different. Things like what herbs are the right ones you're supposed to use to make potions change with each New Game. I liked that, though. It makes for just enough of a challenge that I felt rather accomplished when I finally figure things out. Overall a very enjoyable experience!

The only drawback I found with the game was a repetitiveness when I went back to get all of the achievements after finishing the story. In hindsight, it's not really that big of a deal, at least not to me. Still, I feel that it should be noted. Otherwise, I really liked this game and definitely recommend it.

This game was absolutely stellar! Sure, it didn't have some of the features that a lof RPGs nowadays have--such as a character creator, character customization, sprawling skill trees, and the like--but Hero of the Kingdom doesn't need all of that jazz to give you the exact same experience and be just as awesome, if not more so! You play a farmer's son who starts off on a journey to find and save his father only to walk into a whole new world with adventure around every corner and under every stone! And the game plays so smoothly. All you need is your mouse! Just point and click, and the actions are instantenous! Want to walk from one edge of the world to the other? No problem! It's as simple as opening up your map and choosing your destination. And each new location provides more things for you to do! It really immerses you into this medieval adventure. I mean, just, everything about this game is utterly fantastic. I can't praise it enough. The "twist" in the story and the events thereafter up to the ending were a little cheesy, but in a charming way! It was all still so good!

This game was seriously so much fun and I encourage anyone who is a fan of RPGs or adventure games to try this out because it's just so good~! Seriously, I had the best time playing this game and experiencing the adventure of the farmer's son who became the Hero of the Kingdom.

I really don’t know how to even begin reviewing this game, so... here goes nothing, I guess! I really loved this game. Absolutely, positively LOVED it! I love the soundtrack. I adore the art! And each character is so unique in their character design. I love all of the characters in this game. Every single one! Even the “villain.” I love them all. The creators of this game just made awesome characters and made them feel so alive! So real. It’s awesome when you find a game like this one where the characters in the story are just so well done and well-rounded and yeah… I can’t say enough about how awesome the characters in this game are. And I really do love them all, which is also rarer. I mean, you usually don't like at least one character in a game for some reason or another, but not this one! Or at least not for me.

The game feels so casual and yet there’s still plenty of drama and humor... and some angst. There is one point in the game that most definitely needs a TRIGGER WARNING included. I’ll still put it behind spoilers for those who really, really don’t want anything spoiled…. but yeah… Kyle commits suicide. It all turns out okay. He comes back and is alive at the end, but yeah… It’s really heart-wrenching and potentially triggering. It was for me. I absolutely fell apart when it happened. For those of you who didn't read the spoiler, just be prepared going into Chapter Fifteen. I wish I had known beforehand what was going to happen. Like I literally had to stop playing the game because I was sobbing so hard and then was too scared to continue the game to see what happened next. I mean, obviously, I completed the game, several times even to see each guy's route… I just thank the developers for Skip Mode because I just could not handle seeing that again. Once was enough.

Anyway! The game has great re-playability to see everyone’s story, but it’s a bit tedious. Not a whole lot of the story itself changes, which makes back-to-back playthrough a bit of a chore, but finding out each guys’ story really is worth it. Each story is so unique and really makes you feel for the guys. And plus seeing how each guy’s love route plays out is nice, but I was equally as curious as to how each guy got cursed as to how the romance route would play out. Each route is amazing!

All in all, I give this game a million likes and thumbs ups and kudos and just… yeah, I love this game and recommend it to everyone! (Just be aware of the trigger warning, seriously guys.)

Your name is Katie. You're finally back from your trip abroad and you arrive at your family's home... but something isn't right. The house is dark and no one's home. Where is your family? Your mom? Your dad? Your younger sister? Why does it seem like something's happened? It's up to you to explore the house and figure that out.

Let me start off by saying the game does an excellent job of immersing the player into the role of Katie while she searches the house for clues via various documents, letters, and other objects left about to interact with. Secondly, this story wasn't at all what I was expecting. I thought I was stepping into a house of spooks, but that isn't what happened at all! Instead, I discovered a story of one family's trials and tribulations and ultimately uncovered one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever had the pleasure to experience.

Gone Home is utterly brilliant, beautiful, and moving. I absolutely loved it and most definitely recommend it!

I find myself struggling to come up with words to properly describe this game... hopefully what I'm about to write gives this game its due justice. Ahem... Actual Sunlight shows the world through the eyes of a man dying under the weight of his depression, and it does it well. It's one of the most emotional games I've ever played. I both love and hate it. I hate it because it's so relatable. It's sad and depressing and makes me feel like crap and rips at my heartstrings... but I love it. I love it because it's a wonderful game - even if the subject isn't - and because it's beautifully written. I think the creator is also very brave for making this game. It takes guts to make a game like this, but I think it's also important. Thank you for making this game, Will O'Neil.

Now to get down to the brass tacks: do I recommend this game? Yes, but also no. I believe this game has an important message, but it's also heavy on the triggers. This game will most likely mess you up to some degree. If you have trouble when it comes to games involving depression, suicidal ideation, and/or suicide, period... then I'd suggest you give this game a hard pass. Although I'd love for everyone to play it, the reality is that some people are just not capable of handling and coping with such things. And this game really puts it all out there and in force. Tred carefully, my friends.

The Last Door - Season One is an episodic, point-and-click game with a story full of mystery, horror, and intrigue. There were just so many little details in the game that bolstered the story that extra little bit that really made this game stick out for me. The soundtrack for one is absolutely superb and made for a great atmosphere. And while you'd think the pixelated art-style would hurt the game, as horror of any media requires good imagery, the art-style actually sold out and I believe in some places even made things scarier! I'd especially like to mention the puzzles in this game, as they were surely lovingly made. They were just so unique in design and I believe quite possible some of the best puzzles I've ever played in a game like this, especially the last puzzle near the end of the game! And did I mention there are little Easter Eggs in the game?

Overall, The Last Door envokes a similar emotion I get from reading pieces from the masters of mystery and horror. It's Sir Arthur Conan Doyle paired up with Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft: absurd, disturbing, horrifying, and wonderful. It's a game I won't soon forget, and this is just the first season!

You know, I really did like Crush Crush in the beginning. Then I learned that the further you get in the game the more time things take. For example (I re-downloaded this game just to give an example of how ridiculous it is) as of 30 October 2017 I'm up to the girl Luna and at the Nuisance zone. All I need to progress to the Frenemey level with her is to get to Planet Buster in the Slaying profession. Alright, sounds easy enough... until you go to the jobs tab and actually look at what is required. Unfortunately, I'm currently only at the Dragon Killer level of the Slayer profession, which is the third level. I need Planet Buster, which is level six! To get a promotion to the next level in this career (just to reach the fourth level of the Slaying profession) I need over 23 million points or whatever. Now I haven't played in a VERY long time (we're talking months here), but even still I'm only at about 12 million.

There is (not quite literally) NO WAY you can play this game legitimately. You either have to cheat by using your computer's clock to your advantage and advance about 100 years into the future (I wish I was joking) or you could pay in cold, hard cash... or at least the virtual version, which would likely cost you hundreds of dollars (again, I wish I was joking).

So do I recommend this game? The only way to successfully give my answer would require an audio input so that I could emphatically scream "NO" at the top of my lungs, potentially rupturing my vocal cords in the process.

I absolutely love this game... which bothers me, considering the type of game Close Your Eyes is. Horror is really the only way to describe the genre, but it's not really scary so much as it's deeply disturbing with a lot of creepiness factored in. There's also an almost somber tone implemented in some sections as you progress through the story. It's definitely a game that messes with your head, and the artstyle and soundtrack do an awesome job of adding onto that level of unease and horror felt throughout the game. I think the artstyle adds a rather specific level of creepiness, too. It's almost childish in nature and a bit on the cuter side, or maybe light-hearted is a better word? So that all just makes some of the actual art so much more disturbing. And the soundtrack is just awesome. Dark and disturbing in some places only to suddenly be replaced by something light and almost whimsical that just completely sweeps your legs out from under you, making the progression back into the dark and disturbing even more impactful.

Now, the story of the game... just wow. I mean, there are kind of multiple stories depending on what you do in the game, but it's all awesome. Because the different endings are so varied, there's a lot of replayability. And if you choose to seek out all of the endings, then the game adds yet another layer of horror as you have to repeat some of the parts that are the most horrifying until you almost become numb to it (which in and of itself is absolutely terrifying). I'd say there are basically three main storylines in the game, maybe four? My favorite would probably be the story that the fifth achievement is a part of.

Really all I have is praise for this game. I highly recommend Close Your Eyes to those who think they can handle it. I want to put a heavy emphasis on that last part! This isn't a game to play just because it's free or because it has achievements. It comes with very strong warnings, which you actually see when starting the game, stating there is "violent, disturbing, cruel and graphic content that may not be suitable for all audiences." Heed this warning! I'm not saying this as a deterrent, because I love this game and really do recommend it, just be prepared and keep in mind what awaits you if you decide to give this gem a try.

I really liked this game. It was short but it had a lot of emotion and a good story. It leaves me feeling nostalgic and maybe just a bit more mindful of life and the people in it than before.

Really the only redeeming qualities of this game are the achievements and that it's free. I mean, there's the ecchi zombie girls, but I was really just hoping for a fun puzzle game. But the match 3 in the game actually kind of gave me a headache. The puzzles weren't even fun! I'm just really disappointed... although honestly I wasn't expected an awful lot out of this game. I was just hoping the puzzles would at least be fun. Perhaps that's why I'm so annoyed. The only reason I even finished this game was to get the achievements.

This review feels kinda mean... so let me change my tune a bit. This game has a few pros: it's free, it has 8 achievements, and there are scantily-clad zombie chicks. So if you like that kind of thing, then you might enjoy this game. Otherwise, there are plenty more fish in the sea. And by fish I mean games. And by sea I mean Steam. There are other free games with achievements on Steam that you can play.
