Operation Paperclip2​3​4​ (in English Operation Paperclip and originally Operation Overcast), also called operation paperclip,5​ refers to the code name of the operation carried out by the United States Military and Intelligence Service to extract from Germany Nazi scientists specialized in the so-called Wonder Weapons of the Third Reich, such as rockets, chemical weapons and medical experimentation after the fall of the Nazi regime during World War II. The program was carried out by the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency, an institution dependent on the US State Department created for this purpose, which was dissolved in 1962.
