This is barely a game.

Everything I have read, seen, and experienced for myself surrounding this game points to it being nigh-unplayable if your goal is to actually enjoy the experience. Every person I have asked that has played this game for more than an hours says that vanilla is unplayable, all in-depth reviews I have found point to this game being actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if what you want is a good time, there is no tutorial nor is the game forthcoming or intuitive, and nothing about the game so far in as even remotely encouraged a desire to continue playing.

This is an official endorsement of the 'try it for a bit, then refund' gang.

For starters: This game is a masterpiece.

I don't mean that in the sense that its gameplay is breathtaking or its world immersive, or even that its the best at any of the things it set out to do. I mean that this game has, in less than an hour, made me feel a greater sense of accomplishment and satisfaction than any open world rpg I've ever played. Full stop. No gimmicks, no jokes, no satire in this recommendation(there's plenty of that in the game). This game, as I've seen dozens of other reviews state, makes me feel such profound emotions towards the games I have played and enjoyed or not enjoyed, and as I continue walking through the STUPID top-down map, mashing my directional keys, I have to ask the question to myself;

"Why did I ever like Open World Rpgs?"

It clearly wasn't the graphics, this game has literally the bare minimum, and yet I'm still having a good time.
It clearly wasn't the progression, this game barely has any at all, and certainly not enough noticeable.
It clearly wasn't the characters, as outside of a few descriptions in the journal, this game doesn't have any.
It clearly wasn't the gameplay, this game has almost none.

And it is so that I am forced to the humbling realization that I encourage everyone who sees this to play this game and also have.

I don't like rpgs. I don't think I ever did.
The thing I liked was the feeling of accomplishment, it didn't matter what it was I was accomplishing, to put it in meme terms;

I want a good grade in video game, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve.

Play this game. Play it, for at least as long as I have here. Play it and learn more about yourself, learn why you like the games you like and don't like, and why you gravitate towards the games you do.

Of all the myriad games I've played on steam or otherwise, this is the first game to strike such a harmonic and relatable cord to me; which is to say, I didn't know it, but I really should've listened to the warning on the title card, but I'm glad I didn't.

The RimWorld does and don'ts:
Do build your base out of entirely and only wood. It'll look much cooler when your Pyromaniac goes on a mental break.
Don't use killboxes against tribals, they could really use a W every once and a while.
Do tame and breed an absurd amount of muffalo, more than you actually feed. Why? Because you forgot how fast they ****
Don't let your characters ideologies stop them from commiting warcrimes, the organ farming and forced cannibalism builds character.
Do make absurdly long hallways and rooms with heaters in them, to down imperial caravans, steal their Psylink neuroformers, and then rescue them for faction relations. It's the only way.

Right good fun

Ahem. As someone who has played this game for... a while, I would recommend it to others. If that seems like a cop-out, and you're asking "Where's my jokes, where's my witty banter, where's my-" Stop, shut up, and listen to me here. I recommend this game for anyone looking to challenge themself with learning what is, in my opinion, the best MOBA out there. But I will not tell you to download it. To much, and I mean too much, of my life has been dedicated to this game. "It's only 1200 hours, that's not that long!" LIES. Every single one of those 1200 hours was time I could've, and should've, spent doing more important things, like School, Family and Friends, or Significant Others. Every single game I played, I stayed up another hour, despite knowing I had to work in the morning. Every single time... If you want a game to dedicate THAT much time to, this is the game for you. Otherwise,
Stop.
Turn around.
And go to bed.

It's meh... (SOMEONE STOP ME FROM PLAYING!!!) Nothing I ain't say nothing. It's a good game yeah, decent mechanics(best game all time), not bad feel to it(literally more addictive than heroin and I live in new hampshire), got it one steam finally, restarting my space stage was annoying(really i just enjoyed the pack pack kill kill of creature stage again).

Love BTD, Utterly amazing. Generic promotional goody goody thisgameisgreat bs is all applicable. Honestly though, great franchise, Fav tower is Rang'
