MAJOR SPOILERS



The Bad:

- Tojo clan building burning down underwhelming delivery (should have had a cutscene at least)
- Palekana plot is stupid
- Nuclear waste plot is stupid and boring
- Akane and Lana characters are boring / no closure
- Bryce magical powers plot hole
- Hanawa death and Kiryu's reaction to it ("... damn ight")
- Wong Tou's character thrown away
- Ichiban and co leaving Kiryu behind like that was stupid
- Ichiban has little character development (I have no enemies arc) (Literally Sora from KH3) (Stupid as hell)
- Could have expanded more on the brutality of the Barracudas / Chinese mafia in general
- Saeko is a weak/shallow character
- Eiji forgotten in latter half of the game???
- Kiryu has little reason to care about Lani (Poorly portrayed why he should care). Then he goes on to not care about her at the end of the game and decides to go fight Ebina.
- The reason Kiryu gets cancer is just because he worked at a nuclear waste plant because he had no where else to go... That's it.
- Pacing problems
- Bryce overall boring villain in the end
- Ebina underwhelming villain
- Ebina is Ichiban's half brother... Ok???
- OST is mid (does have some bangers though)
- Chitose's character ♥♥♥♥ latter half of game (Had potential in beginning but threw)
- Ichiban's and Akane's mother and son relationship does not exist
- Kiryu's emotional breakdown towards Ebina at the end despite having little interaction with him

The Good:

- Combat is very good for turn-based, very balanced job system as well
- Hawaii is nice
- Date the goat
- Side content was pretty good (bucket list, dondoko, sujimon, sidestories, karaoke, etc)
- Shark fight was actually pretty cool and fun
- Yamai became a really cool character
- Definitely not as grindy as 7
- Majima, Daigo, Saejima boss fight
- That one cutscene with Kiryu changing to his OG fit

You can tell the writers were struggling to tie everything together. One of the worst stories in the series. Everything led to nowhere, disappointment throughout the whole game, just kinda ass. Did have it's moments though.

Overall Score: 5/10
