DISCLAIMER: Most of the bad reviews are talking about the campaign, which I agree with, but not the reason I play COD. This will focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game, where I think most of your enjoyment should be gained from with this franchise. I hope this review helps your purchase decision, however I would wait during the time of this review.

The Zombies is good, but the multiplayer is truly horrendous. The matchmaking is broken, oftentimes giving you lobbies where the majority of the enemy team being way beyond your, or your team's skill bracket (I have a 1.1 k/d, and find high-skill ranked players). The weapon balancing paired with the aggressive skill-based matchmaking right now, feels that you must use the META to have even normal feeling games with how truly abysmal the matchmaking is. Honestly, it is the #1 thing harming my experience with the game. Furthermore, there will rarely be a time where your screen does not have the "Packet Loss" warning. Even with good internet, this can lose you many fights in a play session within multiplayer, or even impact your experience in zombies.

The gunplay feels good, along with the movement improvement vs last year's COD (MWII), especially with them reducing visual recoil. However, the aiming experience specifically on Mouse and Keyboard, is off, hindering the potentially great gunplay. Something has felt off since the game launched, and the content creator: True Game Data, goes in depth about why it may feel this way. Please go watch his video for a better explanation, but to sum it up, the idle sway of a weapon effects where you aim before you even aim down sights, and strafing also effects accuracy, essentially giving you RNG to deal with when trying to lock onto a target, or especially multiple targets, scoping in and out. This makes it extremely difficult to land shots where you need them most in a quick manner, i.e: trying to kill someone who is "headglitching," behind cover, or targets in awkward locations/angles. This seriously does not help with the enemy visibility being bad as it is. Even with some options to mitigate this effect, the fact of the matter, is that RNG should not be an aiming mechanic, at least upon first aiming down sights. Controller players seem to be having a much better experience. The aim assist is pretty generous, if you watch some videos with controller game play, you can visibly see how strong the rotational aim assist is. This is just what I have heard about frequently, and have seen. I have personally not used controller yet, but if I do get enough hours with it I will add an edit to this review.

All in all, the multiplayer is not fun most of the time, at least right now. They seriously need to improve their matchmaking, giving better connections and a more varied player population from game to game. They also need to improve the aiming experience on mouse and keyboard. at the time of this review, every game feels like you are playing ranked with "packet loss" burning a hole into your screen. There are fun guns like the akimbo smg, and the aftermarket parts, but leveling and grinding camos has never been more a of a sweat fest.

TLDR: Zombies good, movement good, mp bad, sbmm bad, groot bad, packet loss/latency bad, and weapon balance (mostly) bad.
