This is the game I wanted to get when I bought Blasphemous.

This game is all right, but would I recommend it? No.
The game is fairly linear and every encounter is fixed. While this spares you from the grinding many jrpg like games suffer from, you lose the sensation of adventure and makes you wish you shouldnt walk around at all since you will just spam the A button until you can finally do the next fight.
The story is a "comedy" but it feels like they just didnt have a good idea for a story so they went with a non-serious one which isnt funny, but makes you disinterested in the story.
The different take on combat was interesting at first, you get bonus damage if you dont spam the same skills and every 3rd-4th of your moves are buffed. I played on hard (not the hardest) difficulty and it didnt actually made the game difficult, however, both you and the enemy made very little damage which made every fight to take long, without a risk of losing the fight. There were very few fights where I had pay attention. Its not hard, its boring.
You can switch party members but there are a few characters who even though they have 10+ different skills from the start, all of those skills are useless and you will never use that character.
I would say dont buy the game unless you absolutely love classic turn based combat a and cheesy futuristic setting.

git gud or stay mad

This game is surprisingly good! A good story with serious tone instead of a silly/comedic approach. It has jokes but stays grim during the entire game.
The characters are very unique with unique skills, its not cliched at all in my opinion. In the dungeons the encounters are fixed so if you cant figure out a puzzle quick enough the game wont punish you. And guess what, even the puzzles are entertaining, im usually pretty bad at them but I could figure out them in this game.
My only problem with the game was that when you reveal the weaknesses of an enemy you have to take a screenshot or something because the game wont show you again unless you use the skill again but that would waste an entire turn.
You get a fair amount of content, 20 hours of gameplay at least, some small secrets, gorgeous graphics, nice variety of enemies, cool bossfights, all in all a top notch game.
