If you don't intend to spend at least $100 a month on this game, you will have to resort to tanking tactics (losing some matches on purpose) to stay in a lower league. if you advance a little to far and start getting demolished by ridiculously OP opponents, just lose some matches on purpose to fall down to a lower league again. The best way is to run directly at the enemy, guns blazing, until all your bots are dead. you'll be able to get out of the match early and jump into another match and repeat the process until you reach the league you feel comfortable playing.

This sucks, but the league system and matchmaking are set up to get you into matches against players much stronger than you so you will tire of losing and wanting to spend money to get stronger. I've spent a few hundred dollars on this game in the past, and you'd be surprised how little progress even that much money will help you accomplish in this game. best to not even start spending. maybe, MAYBE, a $5 robot if you really want it (those deals come up sometimes) otherwise, buying keys and data pads etc is just gambling and burning through money.
