This game, in my opinion, was worth the money. While it's not as great as games like Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors, it still has it's own unique charm, and the character customization is actually pretty amazing with it's many clothing options and unlockables. But I will say that the game feels really short, and I can understand fans being dissapointed by that, but on the plus side it has great replayability.

EDIT: A personal note, besides the game and its levels being short, I can't really understand why people are bashing this game, it actually is longer than Generations (Praise be). It controls well, the graphics for high end computers are spectacular, I guess they were expecting a game that outshined Sonic Mania? Mania had dedicated developers, throwbacks, and nostalgia all packed into one, so if fans thought so, that's kind of setting standards too high. This game I feel, had a secondary purpose to show off its new Hedgehog Engine 2, and I will say, the physics for ground and air boosting, turning and jumping, for me personally, feel improved.
