This is a good game, if you like retro pixel-art games you should play this one. That being said I'd like to point a few negatives (WARNING FOR SPOILRS) :

1- Don't ever block a player from backtracking by saving right next to a boss door with no way to go back to previous rooms. This one doesn't happen a lot but that is one thing that infuriates me. It usually servers no purpose but to force you into trying over and over again until you beat the boss.

2- The challenge for each room varies wildly. Even in later parts of the game there are rooms that pose no challenge and feel like they're there just to make the map larger, and then rooms that will force you to try several times just to get past them. Rooms with the energy orbs that go back and forth for example usually just slow you down so as not to take damage, but are not a challenge.

3- The false floors in Altar of Echoes that make you fall into the rooms below are annoying. By that point you already saved on that floor, all they do is to make you kill yourself to start from the save point again. Yes there is one block as a hint in the very first one, then more rooms with easily defeated enemies and more false floors? How about using real enemies and challenges or puzzles? You did a fairly good jog for most of the game then decided to conclude it with some last stupid rooms.

At first the idea might look simple but there are strategic decisions when picking weapons or items and leveling them up. If you like unlocking characters and items then this game is also great for that.

I always wanted to see the aesthetic from Salvatore Dali's and Reneé Magritte's pictures in a game. Interesting puzzles and I still have to try nightmare mode.

The only CON I can think of is that mouse cursor disappears sometimes and I have to shake it around until the game decides to show it again.

Such a pretty game with cute characters, and simple to understand. I'd recommend it for kids and their parents.

I played it for 88 minutes, and then decided to get back to it next day, only to find I'd have to start all over? Thanks but no, thanks.

Too much drama breaking the actual gameplay. Unintuitive progression by clicking again and again in the same box to get more items.

These games made me worry about the developers' mental health, well done!

I can't recommend this game enough. It was worth the money back when I bought it and now the game is incredibly better, and there's a lot more to be added. Huge open world, a lot of setting to make the apocalypse the way you like it and developers that actually care about your feedback.

And I heard there are some great modders making your experience eve more customizable!

The art is amazing, I hope the author develops this idea into a full game.

First things first: Next time don't screw with PC gamers by releasing a platformer game like this without controller support.

Some PROS: The unified energy bar is a great gameplay improvement over collecting several different items just to be able to use moves. Most of the new moves are actually useful and not limited to the current world gimmick they are supposed to beat. Collectibles are also better planned for the mechanics they are supposed to provide.

Most worlds reward exploration of every corner and it feels good, with the snow world being the exception in my opinion as underwater areas and highest surrounding cliffs being mostly empty.

Some CONS: Transformations are only useful for a single pagie, and sometimes force you to explore a very large area with minimum move options just to get it. With how many pagies there are in each level transformations should have been made more useful and interesting to use.

Doing all that has to be done in this game in just 5 worlds can get a little repetitive. I'd prefer something in between Banjo-Kazooie and Yooka-Laylee world sizes with more levels with their unique looks.

The hub world is often times confusing to navigate. I kept forgetting which path I needed to take. There's no need to reinvent the wheel here, make it linear and simple to understand.

Overall this is a good game and I hope developers take the time to adjust and improve in future versions.
