People who complain about the integration of politics into this game are clearly missing the point. Of course politics would play a part in two Mexican boys traveling alone through today's America. Sure some of the encounters could kind of awkward and maybe a bit extreme, but there's no doubt in my mind there are people who actually feel that way right now. Regardless, the actual story itself and the relationship between Daniel and Sean is beautiful. It's hard to get a 100% authentic "your actions have consequences" game done right, but LiS2 is a vast improvement to LIS. You can actually lock yourself out of endings depending on if you made Daniel's morality high or low. By episode 4, I had inadvertently taught Daniel low morals, so each action does have weight in the sense it affects Daniel, but not the overarching game (because LIS has always been a pretty linear game and you have to go where the devs want you to). Perhaps that makes the game a bit misleading, but tbh no game has ever really been able to nail it perfectly. All in all, definitely worth the buy just to see the progression in Sean and Daniel's relationship, and the nuances of brotherhood.
