Don't. Never pre-order. Ever. The game came out with too many bugs.

The AI is either ridiculously easy or cheats, hard.

The entire civic system might decide not to work on your game for some reason.

The game balance is almost non-existent, military civs are weaker at war than the rest, and agro civs just swipe the floor with the rest. You didn't reach ancient era 1rst to pick Harappans, well too bad, now they'll just proceed to handily win the game by stealing pops (as if they needed that bonus too).

And those are just the issues with the single-player, multi-player is an entirely different beast I don't have the patience (or friends) to deal with.

In the future they might patch and fix most issues, but for what you're buying at the time of this review it's not worth the base price.

The New Vegas of the Elder Scrolls series, and probably better than whatever we'll receive once Bethesda releases TESVI. A must play, the only negative being you require the original Skyrim edition, which never goes into sale as far as I'm aware. Really wish I could have paid the developers instead.
