I gotta say, for a free game this was pretty nice.
I'm a sucker for Point & Clicks with a creepy vibe.

The game took me 1h20m to clear, I missed 1 achievement, a note I believe.
I managed to get the True Ending my first time through.
Which I think opened up more content than if I hadn't got that ending.

I really liked the graphics and the game opens up with brighter environments.
The "colorful bedroom" was very unique looking graphically.

I hope the developer keeps going forward with new games.
Good stuff, check it out, it's free.

I would recommend this game to anyone into horror games. If you have played the original and didn't like it, you'll feel the same way about this version. This game is an odd one, but it has its charm. I'd say it's pretty faithful at least in the game mechanics to the original. Sure I wish some things were different but I applaud the developers on this one. They didn't improve mechanics a whole lot but they didn't make them worse either. The graphics are very nice and another example of a good game using Unity Engine. Fun ghost stories to read and encounter, interesting inventory puzzles, and collectibles. Save system is using Ink Pens like Ink Ribbons in classic Resident Evil games.

You need to have the mindset of a stealth game. If you played Amnesia: Dark Descent, Outlast, or Alien: Isolation. The AI is something else in this game even on Normal. I like the concept of the Janitors and their audio cues to let you know they are around. Shut doors behind you, only run if they see you, crouch behind desks in rooms. Even though your head is above them it is like a wall to the janitor. Memorize where the bathrooms are. You will be seeing a lot of toilets in a White Day play-through...lol. Leave lights off unless you know he isn't around. Crouch walk if they are close and don't forget you have a quick turn action. These guys will beat the crap out of you like a skeleton in Dark Souls if you let them.

If you haven't played the original before I would recommend starting on Easy and working your way up in difficulty. Just so you don't rage quit and uninstall. If you love stealth games and that is your jam, then try Normal. You need to play Hard mode to see most of what the game has to offer. The game has 8 endings so if you love it there is a reason for replays. I can't fathom dealing with the janitors on Hell mode, I am sure that is unreal. Some content is locked behind the different difficulties. As well as the AI acts like an all-knowing supercomputer the higher you go in difficulty.

---SPOILERS SOMEWHAT - FOR DEVS IF THEY READ THIS---

Speaking of the janitors, that is where most people's issues are with this game. I am fine with them not being killable, but I think they should at least be stun-able. Something like using a stun gun in Resident Evil. When you are hiding in classrooms. I really think the flashlight beam should have been more visible from the janitors in the hallways. From what I remember of the original it was way more visible. This way you could tell which way they are walking. I don't think this game is in surround sound. I had issues detecting his location at times because of this.

It's a good game just be patient and take things slow. The game will grow on you over time.

Well, I have a lot to say about this game and it's not very good. Let me first say I am a huge fan of the original 3 games on PS2. I have them on the original disc as well as digitally on my PS3. I've played those 3 multiple times over. Those games are every bit as good as Silent Hill or Resident Evil games. Onto this game...

This game came out on WII U in 2014. I never had a WII U so I've waited this long to get to play Fatal Frame V I still have yet to play Fatal Frame IV either. I've seen different articles refer to this release as a Remaster. This is not a remaster by any means. This looks like a game from 2014 because it still is. The characters themselves in 3rd person look decent and they may have been touched up for this release. The environments and things up close are a blurry mess of low-quality textures when you really look at them. It is more acceptable for the original 3 games on the PS2 to be blurry. PS2 came out in 2000 and the Wii U in 2012. So again this is not a Remaster it is a Port.

This is definitely a game you want to play with a gamepad. Even still, on a gamepad, the controls are very wonky. The PS2 original controls were way better than this. It feels like your character is in mud that you're trying to make them move through. Sometimes when trying to turn around and walk forward it feels like the game is just ignoring your controller input. You do have an auto-lock on to ghosts now I guess to make up for bad controls. To another point, this game is super easy compared to previous games and treats the player like they are an idiot. No spoilers but... there was a room I was in where I obtained a key item. The developers felt the need to auto open the map for you. To show you that the key item is needed for a locked door that is literally Right Behind You! in the same **** room. This game is really dumbed down and the protagonists are just as dumb. Willingly going back to haunted places and offering death to take them.

I've had the AI partners get stuck or just start walking in circles. Seen texture glitches. Ghosts still talking their smack to you after they are dead and gone. Ghosts talking and getting their dialogue cut off because another sound plays. Plenty of invisible walls keep you from exploring and forcing you down linear paths. Cut-scenes where the characters have barely any animation, just eyes blinking and mouths open.

From what I know Nintendo owns half the rights to this series. This is stupid and why we aren't getting new or better Fatal Frame games. Nintendo has no business owning a horror series, to begin with.

This was not a wise choice on Koei Tecmo's part to release this game in the series. For a lot of people, this will be their first time playing any Fatal Frame game. This isn't a good showing for the series at all. I think the only reason was that this game is the latest one in the series. So it should be the best looking which would mean less work on their part. It would have been better to release the original 3 games together as they are in a collection for 60.00 bucks. Then this game for 39.00.

I am halfway through the game at this point. I plan to play till the end. I am appreciative at the same time to get to play this on PC. Sure I could have emulated it, but I didn't want to have a glitchy experience. This game just doesn't have much going for it. This is a lesser-known series and it is going to end up just like Silent Hill, beloved and forgotten. Play it if you are a fan of the series, otherwise, I would say skip it. I'm voting YES but only because I can't pick Neutral.

Critical Wall Of Text. Hope it's interesting for those who care...

I really liked 2033 and Last Light Redux and have played them multiple times now. I didn't get to play this game until 2021 because I didn't have a good enough PC to run it. I was aware of the developers taking the game off Steam upon its release to be sold on Epic. Which I thought was a real jerk move and clearly done for money reasons. It pissed off Steam users, me included. I got the game on Steam with the 2 DLCs for a decent price since it's considered old now. I've seen recently too that the developers are releasing an "Enhanced... Remastered" version of this game now. Stating that it is for high-end PCs. Which just made me laugh. The game as it stands is for high-end PCs. I ran this on an RTX 2070 Super with max settings. The Ray Tracing looks terrible and makes NPCs/Enemies look like Sparkle Dust Ponies or TV static or something. I ran into my fair share of glitches, stupid AI, FPS drops, and crashes. I constantly had this glitch occur where I would be in the truck/van and go to look at my map. The viewpoint in the vehicle would shift way up so I couldn't drive properly. I'd have to get out and get back in to fix it. Pretty game-breaking actually when you're getting your ass kicked because you can't see.

It plays like Evil Within 2/Dying Light, mostly. Leveling, crafting, side quests, open world, etc. Although to me not as engaging or fun. I guess I prefer a linear/tighter experience with Metro. Having played my fair share of the Stalker series. I feel that is what this game should have been and not a Metro game. If you like Stalker but find it too hard, then I guess this is for you. The game's ending was not satisfying to me either. The game felt padded and just somewhat bland in areas. I felt a real lack of a horror element too which may be because of the openness of the game. It looks and sounds great aside from the Ray Tracing issues. I do have to mention the AI again. Not that the other games have super AI either. I just wanted more from the enemies than Exodus provided. I've played the Two Colonels which was fine and all, it was more like the original games. Short and sweet, also surprisingly easy. Not sure about the other DLC yet till I play it. I am sure it will be decent.

As for this Enhanced/Remastered thing that is coming out. Just seems silly to me. This game doesn't need a Remaster, it needs more updates/patches. It just says to me that it was released too soon. I haven't heard whether it is gonna be free to people who own the game already or not. It's not something I will be buying. It just makes you feel like you were taken advantage of. A point of concern is... Unless you are really into Metro and this style of Metro. You may only play this game once or not for a long time, due to the game's length. So if you just played the original of this game then you are getting a lesser experience. So no, it's not a bad game by any means. It's just not what I wanted or expected from the series or its developers.

PS... I don't know about those of you that have played through the main campaign. The NPCs always seemed to feel like they were stating the obvious. The means of telling you what you need to do and how to do it. It's better than being confused or lied to I guess... lol.

I just wanted to thank Benoît Sokal and Microids for the Syberia Games. They are classic games to me and I wish newer games were like this. Sure I love decapitating zombies/aliens as much as anyone else. These are games to be remembered and replayed. I can't believe this game is only $1.29 as I post this. No reason to not play this wonderful game.

This is an amazing game as everyone will tell you that has spent more than 5 minutes playing it. For reference, I have a Geforce GTX 1050ti, old card I know. This Remastered version ran perfectly on my computer though. It felt like a smooth 60fps all the time. So this game is for sure optimized. Personally for me I think Demon's Souls was better. I may have just liked the atmosphere better, I am still not completely sure. However, I played and beat that game before I played Dark Souls 1. Whichever one you play first will probably be your favorite. Due to that being your first "Souls" experience. I also feel between Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1... Demon's Souls was easier. I know Dark Souls is old to some but I just beat it 30 minutes ago, so I am hyped. I can't wait to play Dark Souls 2 and 3. Best advice I can give you is explore slowly "enjoy the level details", be patient and keep your shield up. Dying is part of the game.

Oh yes, and make sure you play the DLC before you beat the game. If you don't you will have to play New Game + up to the point where you can access the DLC. Thank god I did it in my play-through or I would have been pretty pissed. Seems an odd choice from the developers to not give you an option or some forewarning.

This game is awesome Gun fun! I replay this game from time to time. It is still impressive the detail and flash this game brings together. Cool comic book style cutscenes. The game has it all in my opinion.

For those who might want to know...

Redux is basically the Extended version with updates. The extended version was the base game "Hard Reset". It also included the DLC "Exile". Exile was more levels and story with the addition of new enemy types too. So Redux is the whole deal all packed into one. I do like how the base game just flows right into the DLC. There isn't really any start and stop. Also, Redux improves graphics/performance. The new enemies in the DLC are also scattered around the base game's content. Giving it all a complete feel.

This game was made with care and they kept a nice polish on it over time. Flying Wild Hog is a great example of a Dev taking care of their game.

Hope to see a Hard Reset 2 sometime.

I am late getting around to playing this mod. Only in the beginning area of this game and wow! All I can say is seeing this makes me wish I knew how to make levels in Source. Great job Marnamai on the beautiful-looking levels and the detail. Play this guys if you haven't already.

I was always impressed with the basic zombie enemies, considering the game wasn't exactly a horror game. The scientists with the headcrab on them are still really scary visually and audibly. They freaked me out the most in this mod. Great mod for HL2.
