This game has probably one the THE best gameplay loops I ever seen. Best I can really contract it to as having a "truck around and find out" difficulty scaling that goes off how much distance you put behind yourself and how much your willing to piss off the apocalypse.

Crafting/Vehicle systems are JUST the right balance of depth and intuitiveness. The few times I was trying to figure out what to do never lasted long (and usually could have been found out reading the games built-in help log). The vehicle system is PHENOMENAL and unlike super grindy survival games like 7 days and ark your able to interact with the meat and potatoes of the games mechanics in a very timely manner that actually respects your time so long as your paying attention to opportunities and what the game hints at.

Hitting the road and dodging all sorts of fleshy/fiery horrors in your f-150 with a bunch of garbage welded onto while blasting some of the most amateur metal you ever heard is an experience I'm pretty sure is going to stay unique to this game. Being able to both defend from and assault your threat in the form of radio towers/gore nests also gives you great variety in how you approach the apocalypse. Hell, there's even what seems to be an entire building system complete with stuff like auto turrets and spotlights if your into giving up hopes of making it to salvation and fighting till you drop. All while having all sorts of skills to develop to boot.

The games visuals are a bit on the "utilitarian" side to put it generously, but honestly it seems to work in its favor in enemies being readable against the environment as well as distinct in its form and function. Also being able to run it on a laptop from 2015 FLAWLESSLY is honestly a super huge perk, prioritizing giving you great fun on the go rather than focusing on melting your GPU. I suspect I can go with even older/more lightweight machines and still have a enjoyable experience, something that's basically unheard of in the survival genre.

The organic difficulty and the ultimate end goal of reaching Salvation never really had me this excited to sit down to game for YEARS. Its pretty much a blatant crime this game only has a double digit number of reviews singing its praises. Ridiculously worth your time and money, especially if you grab it on sale.

Cheers Mr. Nolin! You made a great game and I hope you continue its development. I'm sure the attention it deserves will come around soon enough.

This game is like no other in terms of what you can create for yourself, weather it be a base, hovercraft, crusier, or flagship. In addition, the visuals and atmosphere of this game are top tier, especially when it comes to lighting and celestial body effects. About the only thing I think is missing is crouching and enemies/players ragdolling on death, cause for now they only have these really rigid and jarring death animations comparable to a PS2 game, and it kinda takes me out of the combat (which can be really REALLY fun in base raids). Overall, I would be happy with this game in its current state if the devs just puffed into smoke. But I know they are not, cause there is some real passion in this piece. Really can't recommend it enough!
