Imagine MELEE ASTEROID JOUSTING with steam punk like range weapons, and 3 different ship choices set with FTL map like exploration. Early access currently has 2 ships released and 2 areas, but I expect so much variety could be added later that adds more different types of item builds and enemies. Can't wait for more edition to survival mode!

Never have I played a demo then immediately bought the full game. SO addicting fun, such a unique concept and lore. Great upgrade progression choices and the art/sound is delightful!

Highly recommend this game, feel its my one of my all time favorites. I had about 15 hours in the demo before it was changed to this free prologue version.

This game is like astroids with melee & range customizable equipment combos resulting in a lot of very tense but strategic top down space ship jousting and dodging gameplay. Feels really rewarding to survive vs multiple targets of both melee/range so combat feels rewarding. Then the classic FTL/Slay the spire travel nodes, randomized events make every playthrough possibly diff, so much potential, such a fresh breath of unique gameplay.

Cant wait for full release, hoping they will have endless horde modes or wave defense cuz combat is thrillin!

wartales is like a kinda the more rogue lite battle bros, more world map interaction, more cinematic combat and growing/ camp management. interesting crime mechanic though, save a town but they will still jail you for stealing too much salt. we saved you from bandits cmon!

-Absolutely amazing experience, this felt like a system shock 2 coop fps experience, with a horror & half life influences vibes setting. Roundown 6 (every roundown, the devs change/add/tweak map/weapons/equipment) added bot support which has decent ai so even 2 player coop works (up to 4 players). The bots follow commands in game pretty well.
-Only issue to note is, some of the later maps can take 2-3 hours (first try) to finish, but the atmosphere and experience when your team finish can be so rewarding. and the weapon & equipment handling feels so good, so well tuned that I would play it so much more frequently if they had a horde mode for some drop in fun with the diff weapons/gear party setups

Wow, this is a very unique formula of adding sudden tower defense with a pretty enjoyable resource gather build, unforgiving survival dungeon. Alot of potential here imho

Was kind of hoping this game would introduce some sort of endless mode, where it moves you from room to room, remove the player explore part, but give us convince quality of life, straight up horde mode. how many rooms can you survive etc, each room less resources, or different types of encounters etc.

as only gripe with game is, so much walking, i just wanna enjoy the really unique combo of the core gameplay and get like horde tested on my choices.

7 years later, I still come back to this game, what a benchmark it set for me.
Not just for the unique RTS like tower defence/ team management, rogue lite RPG...or the amazingly chill OST, that crisp pixel art/UX, the large variety of characters/gear to choose from w/ different synergies ...and still trying to unlock that last hurdle by getting to 24th floor of drill pod of an actual endless dungeon mode

Biggest Con(s): I forgot to buy its emoticons in point shop and now it seems to be gone </3

Going to get straight to the point, its a fps grind but it also hones reflex over time!
4* distinct styles of shooting characters, with 2 more* to come. very active dev roadmap+
Throw on some john wick ost and try to last as long as you can difficulty ramps up at 4th lvl
Great value over time experience for library!
