I love this Developer. I love that the publisher of Barotrauma had faith in this project. I don't love this game.

It's not great, nor is it what it's really advertised to be as. I love rogue-like games, and as soon as I saw a difficulty option to die once, restart and I had to count bullets in my magazine, I was more than excited, but the "Difficulty" of the game is negligible truthfully. Most of the monsters aren't genuinely terrifying, more tedious, and the only one that really is scary is a tentacle in the wall that can't chase you, so it's more of a jumpscare.

This game was also advertised/was made out to seem like a Co-Op game, and it's not. After hours of searching (More hours of searching than I did playing the game) and trying to get Co-Op to really work, it just doesn't. It did "work", as in I got my friend to join, but it's not fun and challenging like Barotrauma is.

Honestly, save your money.


Edit: Just so we all know, I'm aware that the people that made Barotrauma and this Developer are different. They have the same publisher. I know that too. The point is that this game was advertised as "If you liked Barotrauma, then you'll love our newest title, 'Hidden Deep'". The point was to make comparisons as the game was advertised, and it's not great. It would still be a lack luster game if it wasn't compared to Barotrauma in the adverts, but the fact that it was means they wanted people to seem them within some vein of similarity. Whether that means gameplay wise, story wise, or Multiplayer wise even, Hidden Deep fails on every spectrum of comparison.

I hate this game.

If ou don't have a graphically demanding CPU, you are not playing this game... F OFF UBISOFT!!!!! -4/10
