I would like to state the probably obvious first: the game looks amazing
the funny part? It got annoying with how many areas were photogenic.

This game was practically pristine, as there were moments that i did not like about it that were quickly rectified as soon as the negativity began to set in. This is not to say that those negative parts are to be disregarded, but overall, the game did not dissapoint and gave a very solid experience .

When it comes to the story, the narrative was overall a 7/10 because of some hiccups. The game feels like it has an air of choice, but it is unfortunately an illusion for the most part, bar the ending. The main and side quests meshed well together throughout the whole game. The illusion comes at a head during the (light "spoiler" ->) transition from act 2 to act 3 and it was here that I was disappointed by the story most. Ultimately however, I became decently attached to the story and characters within it.

When it comes to Game-play, I believe the experience was very streamlined throughout the experience. I felt the stealth was simple and straightforward and I kept coming back to it whilst engaging with the normal combat; it fits right at home with a classic assassins creed game. The active combat is a lot more engaging and just as fun with a lot more quick decision making. I found myself swiftly switching between stealth and active on a whim whenever I felt like it which was satisfying. The difficulty choice is solid as well.

The games length and pacing have to be some of the best in any game ive played. Just as I felt the game was dragging on too long, such as with combat, something new is earned and introduced which re-vitalized the game. I often find myself trying to complete as many things as possible, worrying I am wasting my time while simultaneously making the most of what I've got; however, this game managed to have a perfect amount of content to play through and did not drag. Much of it is choice, and much of it is meaningful if you choose it.

When it comes to the graphics, as I stated, wonderful. The looks and the Game-play mesh perfectly with one another.

The problems I found with this game were very straight forward. I could very easily see this games combat getting stale after some time. Other Game-play mechanics like mongol outposts and fox shrines could also get repetitive.

Overall, it was a very solid experience that I am very glad I anticipated playing since I knew it was coming to PC. When it comes to completely liberating the map, it is nice to know that it is not extremely demanding to pull of and can be done in a reasonable, timely manner. With breathtaking vistas and a satisfying combat system, this game is definitely worth a shot.

I used to play the 2nd edition Cyberpunk 2020 RPG on tabletop. I love the aesthetic and style of Cyberpunk, however, I believe this game is style over substance in a lot of ways (which is ironic given the motto of the setting). I would rate this game a 5/10, as the game itself is serviceable, but the flat combat and stiff movement experience did not impress me (maybe 12 years ago it would have).

The most pressing issue would have to be the RPG elements, as the game was marketed in many ways as an expansive choose your own path experience (like any good role playing game should), but it became clear to me that it had the illusion of choice and an ultimately linear story. Because I was not able to role play the character I truly wanted, I believe the game fails to be a true RPG.

All that being said, I believe the game is not completely terrible, only average; however, I find it interesting I couldn't even hold onto this game even though I grabbed it on sale after waiting 4 years in anticipation for it to be fixed. Perhaps the sting of the old release deception will remain, or I may give it another try when its a total of 10 dollars. I believe No Mans Sky was a very good example of righting wrongs, but CDPR is going to have to try a lot harder than it has to make something even near a "masterpiece" (such as witcher3 etc).

Loved the anime, but that is only a narrative and does not affect the game experience. Game-play is too bland and V is kind of annoying to listen to, but beyond this, I still find the worst part to be that I cannot at least warp V into another character I created in the original RPG, which means that this game fails to be a my kind of RPG (and no, just because you made him look the way you want him to, doesn't mask the illusion).

I went into this game with legendary expectations and fear of the complexity and to simplify my review:
It lived up to the expectations.

It is a simultaneously well put together and janky game, as the bugs "make sense" since they extend from their development intentions (harken back to the drunk cat thing). That is not to say I was not very frustrated by some of the bugs, but it should be known that they can be overcome more or less. This does refer back to the whole motto "losing is fun" which I personally wouldn't apply to every player (though if you are capable of embracing that then there's really nothing stopping you from liking this game).

I would like to specify, however, that the daunting complexity of this game is rooted more in mastery than in general understanding. I said I went into the game with fear of complexity, looking at the menus like they were some hieroglyphics, to now where I almost think they are too simple in some regards (I wish there were more search bars personally). Therefore, I believe the game is not as complicated as many make it out to be; what I believe those players may be referring to is what I mentioned before: mastery. This means the small learning curve is accessible to any who go for it, and it is as simple as the game declares "provide for your dwarves" in the beginning. Do that and its smooth sailing.

Ive clocked in many many Rimworld hours before even touching this game and you'd be right at home if you are as well.

Lastly, id like to expand on the "depth" of the game, as much of my later game experience left me feeling almost undewhelmed by how simple the game ended up feeling. I guess I expected more from the "legendary" reputation people gave it, but in the end you can still tell that it is a video game rather than a super complex life sim. It is HERE that I must add that Immersing yourself into the world, even just a little bit, is where Dwarf Fortress becomes whole. Though the game realistically gives a pseudo lifelike world, it provides the tools and descriptions to make the game feel truly real. This is the true accomplishment of Dwarf Fortress, and with only a little imagination, there is no end to the depths you can dig.

Theres almost a part of me that wants to say I've "conquered the game" or something because ive more or less "seen all that there is to be offered", but every day, despite doing some of the same things I did in a previous fort, the game just keeps bringing me back for more. Because of this, the game rewards me with new discoveries Id not even thought possible.

So, in conclusion, I'm going to go back to building my biggest, richest, and grandest tavern yet.

The definition of fun and pain combined. Endlessly re-playable and satisfying.

After plenty of playtime, it being finally completed, and being the first game i ever bought on steam so long ago, I think it might finally be time for an Honest review. This game might not need much of an explanation due to the abundant and overwhelming positivity it has already been rightfully showered in, but there is also no reason not to praise it another time, again and again. The adventure, challenge, and memories have been cemented in time and will continue to fulfill for years to come. Due to my recent master mode completion, the castles and islands i have sculpted, and the player teams i have constructed along the way, I think i can safely say that i have completely mastered the game (no pun intended).

I could ramble on about how i have killed every boss in every mode and crafted every this, that, and the other but all that is left that needs to be said is that if you do not have the game, there is no reason not to get it whenever you are able to. Give it a try and i guarantee it will not be a waste of your time. If you already have the game, multiplayer is neither a crutch nor a disappointment and only grants more fun for everyone involved.

All in all, Terraria is truly a game behold, casual or not.
