Sons of the forest is a definite improvement to it's prequel, and succeeds at being a truly terrifying survival-horror game and not a slightly scary, bugged albeit very fun survival experience like it's predecessor. The mutants look disturbing and slimy as ever, weather they be the painted tribesmen lurking behind the trees watching your every move, or the shambling pale horrors gasping in the caves. The ambience is very immersive with great sound design that chills you to the bone, all the while looking very beautiful. This sequel introduces many great new mechanics like a highly customisable building system, a buddy system to assist you and great AI that leaves a lot of potential for future updates and is great even at release! If you liked The Forest, you will almost certainly enjoy the "son" of the titular game and i strongly encourage you to give it a look.

Well to reinforce the point that my massive thumbs up already proves, this game is absolutely bloody amazing and more than rightfully deserving of it's GOTY of 2015. It will sound cliché, but literally everything in this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, and the only thing that brings it down is that the DLCs are so good they make the base game and scenario almost trivial of interest, with stories that would be movie-worthy, good little funny reference and a nice heaping of drama and emotion, all that sprinkled with the most amazing OST ever made for any game. Try it. whatever the price you know it's good and you'll cry tears when it's over. BUY IT NOW!

To preface, i am rating this game negative BUT i definitively enjoy it, and the reality of it is that, if i had the capacity, i'd rate this game a neutral thumb. From what i experienced, you'll live this game in three different stages. By the first few games, you'll be terrified out of your mind from your lack of knowledge, you discovering the really great variety of ghosts this game offers and the truly chilling ambiance. Then you will die the first time. This is where the game goes downhill for me. Dying in this game is NOT scary, there i said it. There's no jumpscare, and the cinematic is barely visible anyways it's so dimly lit. Then by the second phase you will realize there's barely any difference between the ghosts of this game, except minor AI details (which sometimes are more annoying than anything), and after that this game loses a lot of flavour. And at last, cheaters in this game a really annoying, since cheating in this game is as easy as opening a bag of chips, so i hope the devs seeing how much they care about the game will fix this. I know all of what i said seems very negative, BUT BUT there are good things in this game. Playing with friends makes this game MUCH more worthwhile, the in-game voice system is a very good idea and some maps are downright oppressing even with the thought that there's no jumpscare whatever you'll do.

So to sum it all up, this game has potential to and needs to get polished and ironed out in a few ways, so to support the devs i'd suggest you buying at full price, but if you don't care, but at 50% reduction and have yourself a few hours of fun with some buds. 5/10

Hearts of iron is an astoundingly full-of-fun game! At first the appearance of the game and it's fairly complex gameplay may put you off, but do not be fooled! While slow, it's incredibly fun to play with friends, especially if you are against one another. The workshop also gives fantastic mods to make your war of dream!

Seriously, this game is my literal lifelong dream of a video game, and despite it's clearly present flaws, it deserves all my respect. While yes the bugs can ruin the immersion, let's be real, you don't play ARK for immersion, you play for the freedom, and in that regard, that's perfectly accomplished. Even if you think the DLCs are bad, there's many many free maps with a lot of the DLC content for you to circumvent that if you don't have the funds, or why not just mod your way into the amazing fan-made maps? The modding community is super active and will make gameplay experience a lot more fun than vanilla, and even then, the freedom to do anything is very liberating, especially since the game pulls no punches in therms of difficulty.
