Did you know? Killing Floor was originally a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004. Did you also know it was made by the same team who made Red Orchestra, another UT2004 Mod?

Tripwire Interactive's track record is pretty good when it comes to mods to games and Killing Floor is extremely good.

You are part of a small 6 man team of varying perks to try and overcome the Zed Horde, from the simple Clot, the loud and proud Siren, the scary Fleshpound and the big bad Patriarch. Fighting through waves, you must survive by getting mad amounts of dosh and buying bigger and badder weapons from the Trader.

Gameplay is pretty good when solo or with a group of friends, it can get frantic at times, but it's still a fun ride along the way. And if you get tired of the base game, Killing Floor can be customized like it's parent, UT2004. Though with the Workshop function, it's a whole lot easier to install mods (I recommend subscribing to the Weapons Workshop Mod for having custom weapons to work).

Map are generally ranged from close quarters to rare big and large maps, and the visuals are pretty decent.

My major gripe is with the music, a lot of it's heavy metal stuff, but over time the music just becomes grating and uninteresting. There's stuff in the Workshop to change the music, but MP3 support would be nice.

And after a while Killing Floor does become wholely reptitve, even the objective mode gets tedious because there's not a lot of maps for it. But it's still a good dame throughout and I whole-heartedly reccommend it for those who like zombie games.
