i killed Horus Heresy with the Warhammer 40k. 10/10

I have 43 hours in so far and got it a week ago

As much as I would like to give this a great review as a long time battlefield fanatic, I simply cannot for one reason: gettings this game to actually run is hell for me (17-17700f, 1060 6gb ddr6, and 32 gb of ram ddr4)

The game only uses 7% of my GPU at any time and is always trying to overheat my CPU even if I manually set the CPU to not run above 90%.. Basically, it seems this game has HORRENDOUS bottlenecking issues, if you want to play it id recommend having at least a ddr6 RAM and a super processor that is liquid cooled.

Hopefully this game is optimized in the future, It is incredibly fun otherwise

Chat can cause games to end, some cards are poorly written, others dont work properly. Why am I giving this a good review? Its FREE and its very very very fun when it works well.

As an alternative to get my fix of this game, you can get a semi-automated version on Tabletop Simulator and play with more than 2 people there.

Summary: Its a super slow-paced puzzle game with a very immersive, artistic, and grotesque world, that will get you 5 hours out of it. Stray is a similar game in that it is linear, is about the world, is short, and involves puzzles. Also the ending isn't my cup of tea and seemed rushed. This is not a game for everyone and I must stress that. Its not a "bad" game as some reviews would like you to believe, don't expect DOOM or resident evil, this is more like the Witness than those by far.

Now for the long-ish (spoiler free) review: Scorn's team tried their absolute best to create a carefully crafted world based on Giger's art and they absolutely succeeded in that. There were a some extremely interesting mechanics and ideas in the game that are used only once and for a very short time unfortunately. The combat is meh but as the trailer suggests, combat is meant to be your last resort, if you jump to attacking everything you see you will have a very bad time. The world is really f-ing confusing at times and if you're not paying attention to everyhing, you'll get lost and backtrack pointlessly.

For everyone that was actually following the game pre-release for a few years like me: they cut a lot of content and it shows, the hypno enemies from the demo are gone, there arent a lot of enemies and weird creatures like we anticipated, and a lot of cool animations from the demo and trailers are nowhere to be found. It feels like the team had a bunch of great ideas, and were too afraid of expanding on them, so they polished the every loving crud out of all of the ideas they discussed since the beginning and very little else was added.

I enjoyed it, if you like the witness or just vibing in a virtual art museum with puzzles youll like this. NSFW/10
