Well, they have yet to disappoint me.
The visual of this game alone is beautiful. The movements and textures of the animals are incredible.
Although where the real shine is, is just the sheer detail of this game, the management, the breeding, the inspection requirements, among many others.
The landscaping possibilities are astounding. Some of the community work is beautiful, and some of the parks make you feel like you are quite literally standing in an actual zoo.
The packs coming out with all different kinds of animals are also right up to the par, beautiful animal animations and textures, movements and needs.
I do however wish they would dive into the Aquarium aspect, Maybe one day.

So i have gotten enough hours on this game to write a pretty informed review.
While the game itself is a great concept, in my opinion it is poorly executed, and the devs priorities are seriously skewed.
Rather than fixing the bugs and things that simply do not work, they pump out more and more content and put stupid hats on creatures, meanwhile the bugs add up and pile on. The game is still playable but it becomes more and more frustrating and you end up losing much more than you gain in the end.
The ship costs on official are also pretty expensive, and seem to get more and more difficult to obtain, and given they are only slightly better than common quality, this seems like a straight up rip off.
They also really do not monitor their official servers, much like another game they created, ARK, the official servers are full of cheating and plenty of internet sellers, who breed animals just to sell them online.
When they host Q&As they promise to fix things, and sometimes address the issues, but do nothing about it later on.
This just further frustrates the player base and they lose players. i give props to the private server owners who do the best they can, with what difficult content they are given.
So all in all i would suggest, if you want to play this game id wait until it is $5 on sale, because that is all this game is worth.

So as i wall into the bathroom of the farmhouse, temp in hand, flashlight on, talking smack to this ghost, it pops up in the corner of the room. She looks like a dam spider-Woman who had a lovechild with that girl from the ring or whatever.

Its true. Then my pal held the front door SHUT! and i see these hands grab me and proceed to pull me apart.
I have never felt. So violated. THE MISTRUST HERE PEOPLE. THE MISTRUST.

Then in the highschool, im holding my breath, running across the gym, ghost is literally like half an INCH from me, CHASING ME!! and i JUST... JUST. live the hunt.
I have never been so on edge... by a game yo. Holy s**t.

This game is doing the same thing over and over, finding the ghost, but. Its always different. No ghost is the same. Some are nice friendly, dont want to rip you open from your rear end, and some just want to see the world burn.

This game does have alot of room for improvement but we see hotfixes really often and im positive that we will see this game grow and develop into something even better. So with that there is a pro and con list.

PRO!
- it does NOT rely on jump scares. At all. But you may turn around to see the ghost by some unfortunate luck, and almost pee yourself. It is really very well executed, please never change this.
- No ghost is the same! I love how no two ghosts are the same. Different names. Different personalities. Different types and temperaments, it's excellent.
- you can pick up just about anything. You can throw stuff. Knock S**t on the floor and cause a mess, just to piss off this ghost.
- you can play with pals! And really REALLY. Mess with them.
- the hiding to avoid the ghost is so immersive, you need to hide and close doors and stay quiet on your mic and turn your flashlight off.

CONS!
- there really needs to be an option to have... Maybe 4-6 party members. Especially for larger maps such as the asylum (which i want NOTHING to do with ever again, i digress)
- some audio bugs when alt tabbing, and the ingame voice could be better, like maybe giving everyone radios to communicate at the same volume around the maps.
- the sprint is an on and off topic but i like it as is, but the players could definitely move a little more natural.
- more maps. Like. Alot of maps. Give us maps.

This is early access, im sure alot of things will chamge and improve but so far, bravo. It is difficult to keep my attention on a lot of games but this definitely has done, just that!
It will have you jumping, holding your breath, sitting on the edge, laughing, possibly screaming, frustrated, then SWEET RELIEF! and much more.

We all need this game. Playing with friends just makes it INCREDIBLE.
Can't wait to see what comes next.

EDIT: i have just learnt that the dev is only one person updating and working on this, i really hope he continues work on it, and i hope that he allows help if needed but it may take a while between updates and if it stays this good, im willing to wait

i got this game on a sale so it was $14.99 now $19.99, but it was worth every dollar.
A pal and i are almost done with the extra quests, and it is so funny. its HILARIOUS, the amount of destructive, annoying, honk-o-rific things to you can get up to.
its great single player but for the absolute maximum fun, you really need to play with a buddy, it. is. amazing.

its a fun game, but god they need to fix the trash system... i have never had anymore than two dump trucks out of one station. having like 100 trash processing plants gets old

so, heres the thing. This game, when you make some friends is really fun, you can build and adventure and do all sorts of cool stuff. But the huge issue that this game has, is that the chinese run every server. and they exploit glitches, peoples trust, the games lack of dev attention, and anything else they can get their cheating little hands on.
the devs, pay ZERO attention to what is going on in their own community. and it you open a ticket for a little bit of help? dont expect them to answer, they wont.
so until the devs pull their thumb, out of their 'in the clouds' rectum. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, and wait until the ratings go up with people saying devs are active. What a shame, i was really enjoying this game.

THIS REVIEW FEB2017: Rimworld randomly generates worlds and people to suit what you play best, being a beginner who is only interested in building and expanding, to the people who clearly enjoy digital suffering, and embark on constant suicide missions. No two saves are the same, and no two biomes are the same, some biomes are alot more forgiving than others, you must work fast and effectivly to achieve a safe area. From there, build your world. The richer you are, the more dangerous the threats and raiders. catch them, recruit them, hell.... use them for organs!!

UPDATE JAN2020: over 1025 hours banked on this game my original review holds true. never have i had two saves even SIMILAR to one another. over the last few years i always come back to rimworld, i have modded the hell out of it, and would now call myself an expert in surviving..... and drug growing! LOL
