I'm a cake from the far reaches of the land of pasteries. Our God, The Baker, once created us all as well as his assistant Angel Cakes. One of them turned on The Baker and was thrown into the chocolate pits where it became known as Devil's Food. While each pastry here can't change what species they are, death via being eaten can result an a rebirth causing them to be shot from The Baker's oven coming back as a different race of pastry though know which they will be they do not.
Two intelligent pastries, the cakes and the pies have been at conflict with each other due to the purity values of the cakes and the pies' attempts to hybridize the pastries to create some mostrosity of both species. The King Cake once issued a war on the Pies but have since been in armsistance.
However, it may not be too uncommon for one species to enact revenge and stage the consumption of the other to this day.
