Do not buy if bugs frustrate you.

The game has a great potential and is in most part very relaxing.

HOWEVER there is so many bugs affecting the core mechanics that it is not playable in a long run.

Examples:
- Farming - the most essential mechanic you can imagine. Farming is necessary for sustaining any larger town.
Unfortunately it is still bugged (01.11.2024) to the point it's useless.
Bugs on every step - 1. fence up perk - fields are being constructed indefinitely, can't complete construction,
2. crops are not being harvested and just left for the winter even though there are farmers assigned,
3. crop rotation applies no matter if the field is already harvested or not - if there's still 1000 wheat left - sorry, you lose it all,
4. weather damage - whether you have a perk preventing it or not - if it's raining during the harvest (and in the 90% of cases it is) you lose 50-80% of all your harvest (I tested it 5 years in a row).

There are many more bugs in other core mechanics (e.g. broken overview when switching regions, some related to combat interface, stat screens, etc.).

The game is fun in a short run, but impossible to keep playing above certain point, because of all of those problems combined together.

For now I have to give a negative review. When the bugs are fixed I will make sure to test the game again and consider changing it.

One small suggestion - before implementing any new mechanics please make sure they are working properly. It can be done for instance by switching to vertical slices model which is perfect for early access releases.

Don't buy it if you want to play online.

Single player is a well made story (with the exception for the last bit, where it feels like the campaign was extended just to fill more time).

Multiplayer is the worst experience I have ever had in online game.
Here is why:
- missions designed to waste your time (or to make micro-transactions)
- absurd amount of cheaters
- matchmaking is a joke
- bugs
- side activities locked for certain regions


Detailed:
- missions designed to waste your time (or to make micro-transactions) - for instance - when side quest is picked, the quest target location is on the other side of the map, and sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes just to get there (and then go back to complete the quest). Reward: 13 in-game dollars.

- absurd amount of cheaters - I played for couple of days, and witnessed people who move x10 faster than normal, are immune to your bullets (they go through them without doing any damage, not even hit indicator), teleport over large distances, spawn kill you in safe zone, can crash your game with casting infinite string of explosives/fireworks/whatever it is, wall hacks, etc.

The worst thing is that you witness those things ALL THE TIME.

Rockstar, are you going to do anything about this? I see some of those exploits/cheats were reported 4 years ago and they still exist.

- matchmaking is a joke - at level 10 it matches you with people at level 115, who already have the best equipment in the game. There is no way to compete against them.

- bugs - I encountered multiple bugs where the quest character got blocked on an obstacle, disappeared, quest didn't start at all, herbs, animal parts cannot be collected sometimes, etc.

- gambling games online are locked - I assume because of the local law restrictions.

On plus side:
- great graphics - even after many years the game still looks good,
- master class storytelling,
- big attention to details,
- variety of activities, and unique mechanics,
- ability to personalize weapons and other equipment

In general - the product has a great potential, but feels like it's still in early beta, and nobody cares about it anymore.

I bought this game for myself and my wife and we had an absolutely brilliant time playing together!
