Basically a short comic book. A "kinetic novel".

On the one had I could be somewhat harsh with it as it just kind of ends. It basically just stops where you would expect the story to really get started.

Then again, it's a free title where the dialogue is voice acted (not internal monologues). I personally really dug the art, especially the backgrounds. And while it does kind of end abruptly before it even really begins, it does leave you wanting more. That's usually a sign it hooked you.

Over all, being free, I say it's probably worth checking out.

The music was decent.

Other than that, what? There is no there, there. There is no game. There is no visual novel. There is nothing.

What the hell is this? It has controller support, but I can't figure out how to make choices or close dialog boxes with the controller. Not sure if it's because you can't, or I'm just too stupid.

You can choose to be in a school uniform, or naked, and supposedly there are bosses but I didn't really even play the game. I waked around the starting area and beat up a few boys and that's about it. They follow you around and other girls too, but they don't do anything other than whistle, say "wow" and belch once in a while.

If you like cheap schlock to laugh at, then sure, pick it up or wait for a discount. But otherwise, there are better game. Even by cheap lewd game standards. Hardly the worst, but that's hardly an endorsement.

I both really enjoyed and really hated this game. It's more of an interactive art piece about blind faith, and that's where my hate comes in. It's another "religion is evil" narrative that are too common and ever so tiresome. I even have atheist friends that have grown tired of the constant and relentless bashing or religion and faith. Truly to hate faith have become it's own form of faith complete with dogma.

Setting that aside however, it's great. I do like things that make me think on more than a surface level, and this certainly does that. It's well crafted for what it is, builds atmosphere wonderfully. Presents interesting visuals and has great music. Like I said, I love and hate this. I love the craftsmanship and obviously love and effort put into it it. I hate the tired, warn "religion is bad and evil and faith is dumb" narrative it presents. To the creator, I say to you, faith is merely an inescapable part of the human condition. Life is impossible without some set of presuppositions, and what is a presupposition if not an article of faith?

But yeah, check it out.

This had potential to be an ok game. It's basically a poor man's Hearthstone. Seems there was an online vs mode at one time that probably could have been cool. Obviously nobody is playing it 4 years later, if anyone ever did.

If it wasn't for the sound effects, I'd probably play through the campaign once. But, the sound effects are that bad that no, I'm not doing it to myself.

I don't remember what I paid for this, but even if it was 49 cents, it was probably too much.

I have mostly positive feelings about this one. I can't really explain why. What I can say is it has problems. I feel like English is not the first language of the creators as some of the prose is rather clunky. I'll forgive the random typos as none of them were so bad as to be confusing as to what was meant.

This kinetic novel has pretty decent art, pretty decent music, and I found the story rather interesting. It's kind of a mystery, that I'm fairly sure you are not going to solve.

Is this amazing, ground breaking, or life changing? No, but it's only $2 and I say worth every penny.

Meh, it's hard to say this is worth it. But, I'm not planning on asking for a refund.

The game itself is totally worth it. But that's mostly because I think they are under selling it at $2. I think a fair price for the game would be between $5 and $10 dollars. I think a fair price for this would have been between $2 and $7.

But, I'm not going to ask for a refund. I'm not even going to downvote it. I am going to say only get this is you really, really want to support the developer and show them a lot of appreciation for what they do. If you are getting this for any other reason that that, it's not even close to worth it.

This actually has some potential to be a pretty good game, in concept and theory. As is, it's kind of meh lewd time waster.

It's actually harder to lose than to not lose, which I guess is fitting considering a lot of the achievements and lewdness are gotten by losing.

It gets a thumbs up, but just barely. If you are going to get it, I suggest getting it on discount.

I'm no where near done with City of Ghosts, but most of my reviews are initial impressions, and I've played enough to have an opinion, one a bit more refined than my original one for the base game. so here we go.

If you liked the base game, you're going to like this. It's more of the same. It's not exactly the same. There are some new characters and you get to play as a few people other than Rania, but yeah, you are mostly playing as her again, and she is as insufferable as ever. In fact, I think Ion Lands leaned into the criticism from the base game and made her even more so in City of Ghosts. That however is not really a problem for me. She didn't ruin the base game for me, and she isn't ruining the expansion either.

Most people will tell you that the game play itself is lackluster, and they are not wrong. One could be forgive for thinking of it as a glorified walking simulator with some driving bits, and they also would not be wrong, but I have a better way to think of the game. I'll come back to that. What they will often follow up with is they are here for the story or the characters. Those things are ok, I don't think they are done particularly well myself. They are done well enough. No, for me, the reason I'm here is for the visuals and the voice acting. I think the game is stunning to behold and while the game play leaves much to be desired, it facilitates me getting to soak in more of the visuals, so it's cool by me. I think the voice talent does a very good job of being entertaining. I don't think the characters or the writing are the best, but the voice actors make up for that in spades. And it's not as if the writing and characters are terrible, just not strong enough to be the reason I'm here.

In my original review, I did comment on how I think the character models are hideous, I'm not sure, but I think they've improved them to look better over time. That, or I've grown accustom to them and don't hate them so much now. Some of the new ones are almost cool. So getting back to the game as a glorified walking simulator with some driving bits. That's not wrong, but it kind of is. I realized when posting on the community boards that this game is really more like a visual novel. Just a much more interactive one than your typical visual novel. One where you are actually playing out the story. But that's basically what it is. It's a story that you get to experience and have some choices to make that effect the outcome to some degree. The only difference is you are actually playing out the actions of the visual novel, rather than reading the whole thing and looking at static images.

I was prepared to give this a thumbs up as stupid, cheap, lewd fun. But the the final DLC stage kind of ruined it for me. I get it's not to be taken seriously, but bringing in forced adult activities and abortion at the end, was unneeded, uncalled for, and stupid but not in a good, fun way.
