I am writing a fresh review concerning my thoughts on this game and having deleted the previous one after having an issue that was completely my own fault, I wanted to come into this with a clean view and without any negativity sparked by me.
Before we begin, I bought the first person perspective mode for this game and that is how I will be reviewing it.

Them and Us for me is a first person experience of re1 with cult and magic influence peppered throughout. I kinda was expecting an re1 clone at first but the game expands and branches out, showing it can be more than the sum of its comparable parts. I really like this game. It can be very taxing even on normal in the early segments as zombies are relentless and ammo is extremely scarce. Whereas everybody else said they were low near the end of the game, I actually had a ton of ammo and crushed the final boss easily but your mileage may vary as I used the knife religiously in the beginning.

The atmosphere, sound and music are all top notch and really get you into the setting. I found myself standing still in awe at some of the scenes, especially a point in the game near the very end where iridescent blue skies belie the horrors that lurked below the surface. Even the crack of gunfire sounds decent enough and I especially love the smg.

My primary gripe with this game is the obtuse puzzles that really left me scratching my head more times than I'd like to admit. I usually perform fairely well in horror games and their puzzles but a lot of them are tied to the lore notes you find throughout the game and even then, some just made no sense to me. You may find them easy and or rewarding, I certainly hope you perform better than I. I also do not know why but I see white sparkles in first person. I don't know if this is an issue in the other modes but this weird glittery shine in certain segments of the game was really a bummer too as it lessened the mood for sure.

All in all, Them and Us is a rewarding experience with multiple unlocks as expected out of a horror game, giving you that extra incentive to try other difficulties and or speed-run. I bought this on sale around Christmas time for 30 dollars. I believe it is well worth that money and I'll be certainly keeping this game company under my radar.

Hi VAMPIRE--SAM,

Thank you for the feedback. We just tested again the latest build in First Person mode and there are no problems. The guide you are following may have skipped some important information.

After picking the file did you interacted with the detective board to place the file on it? Paul needs to place the files on board to find the clues he needs for the next clue, that's why he can't interact with the other files.

You can always use the forums for any problems that you may have. We are here to help.
