buggy rushed DLC, many bugs that left a sour taste in my mouth with very little promise to fix it. very frustrated with this release state. I am requesting a refund and if you bought it I advise you do the same... unfortunately.

This is my Game of the Year. It is FRESH, it is PRETTY, it is FUN. I will put 1000 hours into this game. You should totally consider getting it too.

The game is really fun. I wish the devs would get rid of some really cheesy damage methods though. Very often I'll feel ripped off because I get hit by something with little to no warning. Also, the lack of healing variety can feel really stale.

I wanted to love this game. I went in and played for 12 hour sessions and very quickly climbed the tech tiers. As I played, I saw all these awesome looking ships and frigates. I built a base up and acquired the exocraft vehicles, the thing I anticipated most. I can say from my experience, I did not have fun.
For starters, beginning the game was interesting. Starting on a hazardous planet and fighting to stay alive was a good way to grab my attention and teach me the basic mechanics. Repairing my ship and leaving that planet was rewarding. After I left the planet, I did some exploration and began working on the story objective. I got bored at the point where I had to jump to a planet, place a signal booster for a 7 second cutscene, then leave to go to another planet.
As I explored aimlessly, I found a nice mushroom planet with some cool looking luminescent grass. I decided to build a base there and opened up the base building aspect. The base building was very bland. It was only a place for some select machines and production facilities. The main purpose was to eventually produce a lot of units from planetary resources. Once I got bored of the very one dimensional base building system, I started looking into the Exocraft.
These exocraft seemed awesome in concept, but the execution was very disappointing. I enjoy exploration type games that involve vehicles as they really open up the speed you can explore at. The Roamer being my first vehicle that I upgraded fully is the one I have the most experience with. It was interestingly powerful in some cases; wielding a super powerful mining laser that worked quickly and a power scanning system that made tracking specific structures possible. The biggest downside to the vehicles was that they were so irrationally slow. It seriously felt like it was faster to sprint and use my jetpack. It gets worse when you’re driving on a planet with water, since your vehicle will slow down 40% its original speed when a single wheel gets within one foot of a small puddle. The vehicles work better as an upgraded signal booster than an actual car. Also, the mech handles like the worst thing I’ve ever felt.
I’ve lost motivation to continue writing this review. Pretty much, progression in this game feels way too samey. Anything you do unlock that is unique very quickly becomes stale. It’s nice to see the game devs working hard on their new content, but I wish they would have done a better job at making the things you can do more fun.

If you love digging up the past and learning about things that happened before you, play this game. It's a beautifully crafted system of planets and puzzles that tie the planets together. Awesome game mechanics with an amazing soundtrack. The game is all about poking around a bit, reading some messages from the past, then following rumors to learn even more. I think the worst thing about the game is the fact I can only truly enjoy it once. Maybe twice if I totally lose my memory. Such a memorable game that I cannot recommend enough. This is the best game I've ever played.

My favorite game in my Library. It's easy to just launch and start a run and spend the next hour and a half grinding up just to die and start again. It's always super fun exploring the ruins and mindlessly blasting baddies back to the firey depths they came from. 10/10 can't wait for release.

Editied review: the game is ruined now, dont buy till Gearbox figures out how to not break stuff

2nd edit, Gearbox fixed the issue and fixed it quick, I am not upset anymore, just weary

I love it

Even after I got a majority of the upgrades, It fills that role of a game that Payday 2 used to fill before it was extremely unstable. Easily worth its' money if you are looking for some interesting horde based shooters.
