I liked this beta alot, though it did softlock on me then delete my save file during a recruitment on the town defense map. I think it should be more clear that the subclasses get added ontop of your class and aren't a replacement. Dialogue could've been better but I only did one run so who knows.

Am looking foward to the full release with even more classes and maps.

I think this game definitely has it's moments and there's clear love and passion put into almost every facet of the story, world and design. I think it does unique things with the strategy rpg genre that I've been looking for awhile now. The use of gameplay story integration being a clear priority put into the development which I highly appreciate.

However, I feel it's lacking in alot of places, mainly polish in it's presentation and some of it's writing. The portraits are fairly inconsistent in size and position, creating weird combinations with the UI, artifacts definitely need a UI rework and a sort button navigating it was really bad experience, alot of the dialogue feels clunky and unnatural, deciding to go for exposition over characterisation often. Alot of the art was oddly low resolution or inconsistent, Diana's portrait is scary in her proportions, Stefan's mouth has a line that feels overly thick, barnaby has an uncanny almost open eye when he closes them, a general lack of polish made the experience feel cheaper than it took to make.

I actually really find most of the cast enjoyable and despite some people most likely saying they feel bland, I prefer a more grounded realistic take on cast design over other srpg's that will give every character a different hair style, the realistic art for characters like Stefan look excellent and the artist deserves alot of credit despite my complaints above.

Some characters are bland and uninteresting though, never being given conversations or screentime to properly develop and others can just feel like a blank void of characterisation, the worst example being Jules who contributed nothing to the plot while feeling like an awkward void of bland-ness. I wish there was a dialogue log so I could reread dialogue I might've missed, it doesn't help that sometimes the text speed can feel awkward and stutter in an attempt to emulate speech pacing.

There's alot of scenes I actually like in the game but there's this awkward feeling that looms over the game's story, I hope if the other games continue to be made, they can focus on making the characters feel more natural in the way they speak whilst still expanding on the world. I really liked the theme they were going for of the characters creating their own mythos that would be carried down and i'm excited to see how they'd handle it in the sequels.

Besides those issues this game is pretty cool,. the mechanics are well thought out, well established and well utilised, most maps felt neat and permadeath wasn't overdone or underdone, it felt just right and establishing connections and stories with my own personal handmade squads was really fun. i think some mechanics need more signposting, walls were super confusing with what units could or couldn't shoot over them, when did archers double and when didn't they when attacking from range, stuff like siege cannons preventing a squad from being light infantry. All these things are things I feel could've been explained better though the tutorial log was pretty helpful, though some parts of the catalogue unlock at certain points and create spoilers for the game's own story such as how the powers tutorial spoils a character.

I think there's alot of cool memorable moments that do make the experience worth it overall, and i think getting on sale was definitely a good decision, There is alot of love and care put into this game and I admire the devs for truly making a game they should be proud of, despite some of it's shortcomings. I hope this game or it's sequels continue to expand on it's writing flow and quality of life to become something that could even rival the greats.

edit: Also the controller support was perfect, everything felt great, just wanted to throw appreciation out for that.

I think it's great but the random enemy spawns are extremely frustrating and some of the boss fights are just pure unadulterated frustration.

One word. Masterpiece. This game has truly blown my expectations away, the world is like exploring a painting and the diversity of every area is truly breathtaking. The time taken to make each main boss fight flow is truly something to witness, the work put into all of the cut scenes and boss design is enough alone to give goose bumps. If you are questioning buying this game, don't. Every cent is well worth it for this game

My company was struggling, we were running low on money, I copied telltale and went extremly into debt, we were desperate. I was going to put it all on the line, for one game.
after weeks of debt filled living, sacrificing my well being and working like it was the last day of my life, i finally finished the game.
God of Vore was the largest, most successful game to literally ever exist and it made me mad dollar, i could eat food again, i could feed my dog. it was an average day.
6/10 didn't feed ben

This game is nothing like dark souls.
There's a gothic dark world unlike darkk souls
There's a combat system where you have to roll alot and manage your stanima against tough bosses unlike dark souls.
There's great customazation in weapon playstyles unlike dark souls.
As a person who's played very little of dark souls i can say that this has NOTHING in common with dark souls.
