My favorite action game, it really do be wonderful

This game is absolutely trash, these games are designed for degenerates who see an anime girl and buy a video game. It is not a good video game. Just go play a classic final fantasy or something. Or maybe get a new hobby. Don't throw 90 hours of your life away.

Cause like what if you do finish this game? You don't get a cathartic conclusion for your 80-90 hours spent doing absolutely nothing interesting. Look at how many games are in this series. It never ends. This is your last shot at true happiness man, go spend your time doing something else. Don't buy this game.

I think farming games like Story of Seasons really have been tainted by the idea that everything has to be a automation sim. In earlier games, I pick up chicken eggs, and I put them into the shipping box and I am done.


In this game, I have to pick up the eggs, craft a mayo machine, and then build 3 (it takes forever to make mayo) and then after a few hours I can put it in the basket. Why do I have to do this? Because mayo goes for double or triple the money than just shipping the egg. It's boring and it drags out a simple task.

I found it really annoying that all of the fun things I like are automated. I upgraded my watering can because I like to do the little slide and water the plants in the morning. However, very early on you can craft sprinklers. Okay so I don't have to water the plants anymore.

I also really liked feeding the animals on rainy days, there's something- oh wait. That's automated to, with the help of an automated feeder. Automated fishing. You can unlock sprites that gather materials for you in the background. So what exactly do the developers want me to do in this game? Just run back and forth between crafting machines? It's very confusing. The game is slowly stripped away from you as you level up.

Well, I guess you also spend half your time cutting down trees, the wilds constantly grow back into your farm at an insane rate and the only thing you can do is put road down. And it just looks ugly.

This low effort art style might have worked back when this series was on the 3DS, but on PC the aesthetics in this game have no excuse. It's really lazy, the visuals look worse than the PS2 titles. It's somewhere between a crappy phone game and a bargain bin GameCube find.

But there is something here. I really enjoyed some of the music pieces and it still feels really good to farm and interact with villagers. The setting of Olive town is interesting, there is just no life outside of the event cut scenes. There is no art when you talk to villagers, you just stare at their boring models (If you turn the option on.)

There are so many features in this game they contradict each other. At some point you get access to a motorcycle but the game wants you to repair a horse barn. Why would I trade 40 hp for 1? lol.

I love the Story of Seasons franchise, I grew up with this series and it's one I flee too throughout the course of my life. But this one has no identity. No soul. Please, for your next title MARVELOUS try harder!
