You know a game got great execution of its open world when you are constantly rewarded for exploring. Not only that, but you also end up realizing how much you have explored and how much worth it was. The combat is very fluid and I'd say unique, as well as very challenging on Hard mode. Atlas Fallen runs pretty well too and has got it all to be a fine gem with future updates. Highly recommended.

Splendid game! Ultra fluid and engaging. The gameplay is just SUPERB! Right now, it's got perfomance issues, but the core gameplay is absurdly fun.

This game is all about courage: from the insanely difficult decisions the team behind it made to the actual gameplay. Hands down, one of the boldest moves towards changing and experimenting a new formula, and it just works so well. I was very skeptical about Sonic unleashing flurries of blue energy and going open world, the actual hands-on experience got me impressed positively and hooked to it. Highly recommended!

Worth the wait. The game remained faithful to its essence. Difficulty on point and really interesting additions, such as battling without any charms. Props to the localization to PTBR: incredibly stellar!

Excellent game, it was worth the wait. Everything is fluid, from combat to progression, the sounds and music are equally immersive, and the sense of freedom and challenge ahead can be felt in the very first minutes of gameplay.

EDIT AFTER BEATING THE GAME: I don't recommend it, and you'll understand why. The second half of the game ruins its positive appeal. Anything in life done in an excessive manner is unhealthy. Water is good for our body, working is important, doing exercises is vital, but all that has one thing in common: if done in excess, they can grow unhealthy or harmful. Tunic features puzzles where you are given minimal information to solve them, which requires a bit of thinking that you don't easily find in other games: you've got to figure out things on your own basically. Past the first half, the game does that in an excessive manner: you are given puzzle after puzzle with little to zero information.

It is like the game shows you a blank sheet with a single pencil line and expects you to guess you should draw a horse without mentioning anything else. Until you get the horse drawn, you'll be trying to understand over and over what the game means by that single pencil line. After dedicating time to solve that puzzle, you'll find another puzzle that will require the similar amount of effort through the same structure of having basically no info. It doesn't do it once or twice, nor 3 or 4 times, it is honestly 3x that. Isn't it too much of the same thing? I mean, you put a lot of time trying to figure out the game wants you to draw a horse out of a single pencil line, but it never draws a tail or ears in the next puzzle to make it more intuitive for you. That's the keyword: puzzles in Tunic are not intuitive.

Now you've understood the analogy with drawing a horse, I will give you a quick preview of what the puzzles are like, in case you are thinking this is similar to Zelda or Tomb Raider puzzles. No, they're not. You've got to go somewhere in the map (say, next to a house) and press a sequence of directions with the D-Pad. Doing so will spawn a treasure chest with a reward. "Bah, doing inputs is easy", indeed, we agree! But such input works only in 1 spot in the WHOLE.OPEN.WORLD. Yes, that's right: you'll have to figure out where in that gigantic world you have to use those inputs. Oh, do you think the game will at least hint you where possibly you could go? Bad news for you: remember I said you are given little to zero information.

Besides the excess of literally DIY puzzles, the final boss feels like a buffed version of another boss in the early game and some of the attacks follow the same pattern. There is nothing majestic in the final battle for a game with a pretentious lore. Anyway, the game starts great but the 2nd half is totally the opposite: it's a chore to complete.

I love the incredible music collection, stunning graphics, and demanding difficulty! Winning races feels very satisfying. Also, I got to drive the Haloman's vehicle.
