I am going to be honest; I never found open world crafting games too fun because of how often they tend to replicate the same mechanics over and over and over again.

Abiotic factor is the exception to that.

The game has a Half-life style to it and not only that, The level design definitely takes direct inspiration from the game.
This game is (in my opinion) rather difficult solo. It pisses me off from time to time yet I keep going back to it simply because im having more fun than i am frustrated.

It makes it really simple to balance between risk and reward and doesn't spoil you with overpowered weapons.
You really have to pay attention to everything around you. Your health, hunger, thirst, warmth, sleep... and even your feces.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who is genuinely looking for a new and unique open world crafting experience that sticks out from the rest.
