Holdfast: Nations at war is, when played alone, rather boring. However, if you are in a regiment, which usually isnt hard to do, the experience takes a new level. Where coordination in a public battle is hard, linebatlles organized by regiments usually are highly coordinated. You have situations where you have 40 players in a line, flag bearers on the side, musicians behind, artillery shooting from far behind you and the line infantry perfectly listening to the officer.

The only thing I personally really dislike and wish the game would change is the melee combat. It has a rather weird delay, which makes the entire moving of the weapon look rather unhuman. Other than that it really is a beautiful game.

I can only recommend this to any1 who loves reenactment!

Honestly, the game itself seems to be fairly good but theres so many of these games that are even free, so I dont really see a point in spending 10 bucks on it.

This is in fact a very nice game...
BUT
it becomes boring very fast. Its constantly the same, its very easy, theres no mods to expand it.

It just feels like yet another idle game (tho its technically not idle)

This was actually quite a hard decission. Im on the edge on giving thumbs down.

1. The design:
The games design looks very good. The 3d effect brought it to a whole new level. The Graphics are great, compared to other games of that kind.

2. The Idea
The Idea is really great. Having to manufacture things isnt a new thing, but this game brought it to a new level. I've never seen a game about manufacturing weapons and ammo..

3. The practical Implementation
It has been done fairly good as well. I've seen some people complain about the mechanics beeing too complex, but that makes it more challenging. Sadly, theres barely anything in this game, but that is just due to the fact that it's an EA game.
There are small "Quality of life" details that are still missing. For example accelerating or pausing the game, selecting multiple objects at once, and simple things like that.

4. Pro and Contra

Pro:
- good graphics
- great idea
- research tree
- WEAPONS!!!
- challenging

Contra:
- lack of content
- kind of annoying economy system

Suggestions:
Theres a lot of things to add in this game.
First of all, there should be some small updates that just add those tiny things, like accelerating and pausing the game.
Or having bigger boxes/crates. And one thing that really annoyed me: Add a way to tell the player how much a machine produces. The player knows how long it takes to output the product, but not how much it will actually produce. For example, I wanted to make a 7.62 factory , and thought it would produce 25 shells per plate, like the 9mm, but obviously it doesnt. I would have known, if the game actually told me what I needed and what I get for it.

Sadly, the video features more than the game, so I hope you'll add the content in the video.

The Economy system should be reworked. Im more the person to find one efficient design, stack it and mass produce only certain products, but the game doesnt allow me to, due to the way the selling works. Instead of having orders, or besides that, the player should be able to put up offers. I was thinking that the player can set a certain product on the market and has a small range to adjust the price. The clients will then have to adjust their orders to what the player offers.

I think , the first major things to add would be (other than the simple things) more things to work with. In the first place, bigger guns. Only having pistols ammo and clothings is kind of odd. Also, as the content increases, one should be able to buy more space. The space you can buy by now might not be big enough later in the game.

Maybe, one day, we'll come to the point where we produce tanks... And I want to be part of that, supporting this game.
All in all , it has very very very very much potential. Lets hope the devs dont mess it up like other devs did with their games.

If you really loved the previous games, you will love this one too.

It has some great graphics, a lot of different people you can settle (U used to have 2 types, the people in the orient and the western people , now its 3 types, the normal citizens of the earth, the citizens in the arctic, and ofc. the people on the moon), and the gameplay is really enjoyable. The new market for shares adds a new way to compete with you enemies. To acquire more land, you dont have to fight, you have to buy it and you need to have a certain amount of shares of the company you buy the island from.

The only downsides are:
a) The Military sucks just like in the ones before. The only game with a good military was 1701, where you could actually command the soldiers, then they reduced it in 1404 to camps, which was kind of weird, and in 2070 it was just seefighting. Now its even worse, its just ships fighting and only in certain situations.
b) Sadly the game forces you to play the story. Ther is no sandbox, which really disappointed me, because you can finish the game quite fast.

Prison Architect is a great simulation game.

The game requires you to react to events that may happen (and if you dont like it you can even deactivate it!) and you have to learn quite a lot. You cant just build straight ahead, the prisoners have realistic needs. Guards need to be in good places to be as effective as they can. Just a great game, tho I wish there were commands for modders available.

Idk why, but this DLC feels worse than medieval warfare.
The Graphics are worse (I extra set it all to high in ooptions), the gameplay sucks and the units they choose do not act like they would in real life.

A samurai would never block an attack multiple times, that way the katana breaks. A samurai always tries to kill the enemy with one move.

A spartan will never fight alone. A spartan will always fight in formations. One alone is not even close to as effective as a group of them is.

The Ninja wouldnt even try to enter a fight. The Ninja is sneaky, hidden in the dark, using silent weapons like poison. Fighting is only the last way out that he would choose.
