It's fun, but not worth getting, because there's always a new version out, that's way too expensive to be worth it, and as soon as that one's cheap enough, a newer version comes out. That the arcsys cycle for you.

However, the combat is very smooth, especially compared to earlier Guilty Gear games, and the tutorial mode is amazing.

However, I'd reccommend GG XX AC+R instead, because it's much more complete, with a great cast of characters, although it is less smooth and a bit more dated. You'll get to see more of the interesting Guilty Gear characters, and you'll actually have a full game.

This game got me into the comics, which are amazing.

But, it also made me realize how sad this game is. None of the great characters from the comic are in it, except for Richard. Duke Diamonds is also in the comics, but nothing like he is depicted here. Even the arguably main protaganist, Adrian, isn't in here. And it's not because they can't fight. LASTMAN is an action comic, so practically everybody important is a fighter, even the MC's mom.......

The comics have amazing action scenes, good characters, and a good world.

The action in this game is very slow........ and the characters aren't too amazing. The storyline is surprisingly dumb. It's a fighting game, but the comics had such a great story, and this has nothing to do with them, which is surprising.

I'd really like to see a REAL LASTMAN fighting game, that captures everything great about the series, and uses the actual LASTMAN characters readers care about.

In short, buy the LASTMAN books instead. You can probably get the first 3 on Amazon for the price of this game.

There's not much to it, but it's one of the few games in my library I can start up quickly, play, die, and exit.

It's for you if you want instant gratification, shooting, dark graphics, and difficulty, I guess.

But, it probably isn't going to be the game that takes up a lot of your playtime.

This game takes up a huge amount of disk space, but I never have the heart to delete it to free up space.

It has the most beautiful graphics out of any game I own, and it's not too hard to play. The battle system isn't too complicated, but it does have some depth.

Each individual character isn't incredibly different outside of their main jutsu and "tilt attack" but team-building around different jutsus can be fun. There are crappy characters, but you don't need to play as them, and most offer something unique to experiment with.

I really wish it had the challenge mode (or whatever it was called) from Fullburst. They were simple challenges that gave a sense of accomplishment, for when I wanted to work towards something, but didn't want to invest in the story mode. This game has the "event battles" under online battles, but it's not as robust. Also, it doesn't have all the DLC costumes which Fullburst have.

However, in almost every other way, this is superior to fullburst. The game has a lot more weight to it, and feels more well-rounded. Fullburst seemed just like a chakra-dash fest.

All in all, it's a fun game.

Have a nice day.

I used to be addicted to this game, but I honestly don't find it to be very fun or fulfilling. There's so much luck involved, and you really need to rely on being able to get good items, in my opinion.

It doesn't have much variety or much depth, I think.

I'm not trying to bash the game. I even own the book by Derek Yu on how it was designed, and it's an important indie game. But, it was made to be an easy game to make, in a lot of ways. It was very popular because it was one of the big games in the roguelite boom, but I feel there's better games with more depth that accomplish similar things.

Have a nice day.

EDIT:
Never mind, I changed my mind. This game is good.

This fighting game is not about who can spam attacks the most.

It has a ridiculous amount of mix-up for a fighter of this type, with two kinds of guard break, sidesteps, and ranged attacks. Commonly, you'll be sidestepping a bunch of attacks when your opponent nails you with a powerful heavy guard break, which beats sidesteps, which you weren't fast enough to react in time to. If you expect a heavy guard break, you may rush in to attack, and then get countered by a side-step then attack. There's many counters and counters to counters. It's ridiculous how many people don't realize how deep this is, simply because they're so bad at fighting games.

I've been playing every fighting game under the sun for years, and this is the deepest I've ever seen a 3D arena fighter.
It's very tight and very strategic, once you learn how to play it. Just give it some time. Some systems, like the ability system or flash counters are kind of wonky, but it's all in all very solid.

I also like the way that hitting with raw special moves can often be more damaging than rushing in and hitting with a combo. This really encourages zoning and more measured play. It's not just a button masher. Also, you can get much more powerful combos if you start with the right move, rather than just using the basic combo.

The characters all play very uniquely, unlike some other arena fighters, like Naruto where you're just swapping out one special move, it seems. Some characters are very defensive, and have counter attacks and slower, bigger, more powerful moves. Some characters have devestating special move grabs. Some characters fight very well at range. Chopper can heal his allies. Usopp can lay traps. Almost all of the characters are really fun to play and unique, and because it isn't all about spamming combos, each of the characters can play in their own ways.

I really recommend getting into this game. It's the best 3D arena fighter to date.

This game is beautiful and unique.
It has a simple concept that is well-used.
It's a great way to kill time.
It's challenging and makes you think in new ways.
I really like this game, and I think it's worth 6 bucks.

There's too much to unlock, and it takes too much playtime to unlock anything worthwhile.
You'll play it for a bit, then drop it. As more and more characters get released, you won't have enough fight money to buy any of them.
The story mode is not fun, and the CPUs are almost impossible to lose against.
The new characters are lame.
If you want to play online, you'll be waiting for way too long.
Really, the only reason to own this is if you're going to be playing it competetively.
There are many other better fighting games on Steam that are cheaper and don't require you to grind.

If I had all the characters out now, maybe I'd be more positive, but I paid $60 for this, and only got 12 characters and a few ugly stages. I don't want to devote my life to this game to earn more, and I don't think it's worth it to buy more. This game will only be fun for you if you make it your religion. Otherwise, it's too much work to enjoy.

Much better than Myst. This game is actually fun!
I really like the weird stuff they do with perspective and scale, like being able to go into a tent inside a fridge.
You can't beat the game; you just mess around a bunch, and there's plenty of places to visit.

This is, of course, a game still in development, and there are many things that will be fixed or added, but I think there are a few underlying issues with the game design that won't ever be "fixed."
The game is very, very sterile in every sense of the word. The art, music, and characters aren't very inspired, and get very old quick. The early street fighter games are flashier than this.

But it isn't just the presentation that is sterile. The gameplay is robbed of a lot of the things that make fighting games interesting. The mixup is drab. Combos all feel the same. There's not much difference in damage with most moves, which means you have less reason to go for bigger commitments and bigger moves when you can deal plenty of damage with a few jabs. [In most fighting games, it takes about 100 jabs to kill an opponent, while in this, every individual hit takes away 1/12th of the opponent's health.] There's not much defense aside from invincible reversals, which are very basic. In general, most matches play in exactly the same way. There's not really any sort of skill ceiling, and there isn't really any sort of strategy.

In the end, this is a fighting game that doesn't have anything that fighting games are supposed to have. It's not worth the money and not worth the time to play a game like this. Either buy a real fighting game, or go get something actually fun for $10.

Also, they really aren't releasing one character per month, as promised before. It's taking much longer for each character.
