The first thing I wanna say:
I love gay people. I think the art in this is really good. The s*x scenes are pretty hot. The characters are very hot. If you love hot gay people (like I do) this game provides that.

It's a free game, so you might as well download it if you really want to see the hot gay fish people . . . but I think the game could be better, and I think it's fair of me to hold this game to some standard, so I'm hitting "not recommended" because I don't think it meets that.

The game is, to put it bluntly, a disappointment. I already had my standards for lewd VNs lowered by "Space Rescue Code Pink," so the fact that this one disappoints me after playing that one means it's even weaker in some aspects. But I do think the fact that it has hot gay people is a big thing it does better than the aforementioned game.

PROS:
-Hot gay people
-Hot lewd scenes
-Overall warm and wholesome-feeling story
-Very good art

CONS:
-The characters themselves are VERY BORING and lead VERY BORING lives
-The "days" are ridiculously short to the point of destroying suspension of disbelief.
-Having to choose one hot gay fish guy to go out with per day feels limiting, and you're punished for focusing on just the one you like most (I liked Malik because he reminds me of Shermie from KOF).
-Tomai looks like a little kid when he's talking to his dad or sleeping, for some reason
-The d*cks get partly cropped out when they're standing around naked in their normal sprites :(
-Not enough s*x scenes
-No a*al s*x (this is just a matter of my personal preference, though - I just like p*netrati*n)


Obviously, I don't think every one of these cons would have to be changed for my review to change (and I don't expect a free game to change after release) (and some of them are a bit silly and nit-picky), but I think the main things were just the ridiculously short days and the rather boring characters. I feel like their personalities, lives, and conversations could use more spice. That could come from more conflict, humor, or something else I don't know.

I really do appreciate the creators putting out this free game, and I hope they do well in future works. I'm not putting out a negative review because I want to be whiny, but just because I feel like they could improve in areas, and I hope that if the creators see this review, it's constructive in a way that makes whatever they make next even better.

PS: I feel like the game might suffer from being overly-ambitious, or trying to cast too wide of a net. It has pornographic content, but also lets a player play it "PG-13" which seems odd because most people probably found it because they're h*rny and looking for s*xu*l c*ntent, (that's how I found it)and people who don't like that would probably skip the game when they see the screenshots. Additionally, with 4 characters, 2 of them feel extraneous. Obviously I want to go out with the hot fish guys, since I saw them in all the screenshots and stuff. I'm not a responsible guy who wants to learn to work from his father. I just don't imagine that many people would pick the work-oriented paths when the hot dudes are obviously the focus. It just feels like the creators could have used more focus. I certainly wouldn't miss the Dad and Lady routes, especially if it meant more hot scenes.

While the game is in early access, some problems seem pretty inherent to the game, and unlikely to be fixed.

The writing is just boring, uncreative, cliched, and unsurprising. At times, it's cringe-inducingly bad.

The seemingly main love interest behaves like a video game character, leading to very little suspension of disbelief.

I know nobody expects porn to have good writing, but if it's going to be this bad, it'd be better to have no writing at all. It's a waste, just like the incredibly bad rock-collecting minigame.

The game does have nice art, but you can find nice art online for free. Every other aspect of the game is just bad. If you really want to spend $10 on a bunch of pretty images, that's on you, but you can already view them for free by just looking at screenshots in the community tab. You won't be missing much worthwhile by just doing that.

Seriously, just browse screenshots. You'll be saving yourself from dialogue and characters that make you want to hit your head against a wall, terrible minigames, and constant "under construction" messages.

This game is ugly as ♥♥♥♥. Get a graphics mod if you have a weak stomach.

Quake is obviously an old classic, and a lot of people have fond memories of it. I'm not one of those people. This game came out before I was born, and I never played first person shooters as a kid. So, as a zoomer who just played this game for the first time earlier this month, I think it still holds up to my modern standards.
It's just a fun and fast-paced game. I'd say it still compares very favorably to something like the modern Doom Eternal. It's got interesting, maze-like levels, with good atmosphere.

The most important thing I need to mention, though, is you shouldn't just play it as-is as soon as it installs. I'd heavily recommend playing it through Quakespasm, which lets you play with usable controls, and at higher resolution. I followed this guide: (https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=732999296) to get it running through Quakespasm easily.

The two mission packs are also very fun, and there are a ton of great player-made levels on www.quaddicted.com. Thanks to all the player-made levels, you'll probably be able to enjoy Quake for a long time. I've obviously only played it a short time so far, but I don't think I'll get bored with it any time soon.

KOF 2002 is a fantastic game that I would recommend to any fighting game fan, although I do sometimes have mixed feelings about it.

The cast is massive. It's absolutely huge, and none of the characters feel incomplete or shoved in. While it is missing some characters I really loved from 98UM (like Saisyu, Eiji, and the American Sports Team), it has some new characters I really love, like Xiangfei, some characters I hate, like Kula, Foxy, and Angel, and has offered many improvements to some old characters (like Shermie and Mature), although they did ruin Kyo and Benimaru, in my opinion (this is partially alleviated by Kyo 2).

While many characters lose some SDMs from previous games (not all supers have SDM versions) the added HDSM or "MAX 2"s are mostly pretty cool. Overall, most characters in 2002 feel pretty complete. While most alternate character versions are no longer present (for characters like King and Billy), they're usually no longer necessary, because the one version of each character is usually the best (not counting Kyo, of course, who has four versions).

I think I've said a lot of positive things about this game, so let me complain about one thing I really hate about 2002 Ultimate Match. KOF 2002 UM has probably the worst stages of any fighting game I've ever played. While 98 had mostly well-drawn backgrounds in interesting locations, most of the stages in 2002UM are incredibly ugly. They're all in a completely different style and resolution than the character art, and many of them are just crammed full of cameo characters who stand around to distract you. I especially hate the beach level. This is a real shame, became 2002 on the Neo Geo itself had some very nice looking stages. It seems like all the stages for 2002UM were made specifically for it, which is a waste since they're so awful. I've looked for ways to mod the stages to perhaps bring back 2002's NeoGeo stages, but it's not possible so far as I can tell. Still, once the nausea wears off from looking at some of the worst stages in fighting games, you shouldn't be too distracted from enjoying the game.

And 2002UM is a good game. It's a fantastic game. Its new mechanics truly do make the game more complex, and any player ought to enjoy trying out the new combos and exploits available.

This is probably my favorite video game in existence, but I'm probably biased. The King of Fighters 94 was one of the earliest fighting games I was exposed to, and I quickly fell in love with the franchise.

Both 98 Ultimate Match and 2002 Ultimate Match represent the two pinnacles of the franchise. No other KOF exceeds those two (not 13, and definitely not 14). For me, it's often a toss-up between 98 and 2002, as to which one is truly the best.

98, in my opinion, offers a nearly perfect balance between complexity and simplicity. Without some of the more wild mechanics of 2002 (which I do enjoy), 98 offers the purest form of KOF there is, with the only the best mechanics and best characters KOF has to offer (except Xiangfei).

If you've never played KOF before, get this game, and this game first, since it's either best or second best depending on where the coin lands, and it's one of the simpler ones. If you have played KOF and still don't own this game, well, that would be a bit embarrassing, so don't dawdle.

It looks pretty, though, but that's it.

It's $2.99, but not really as good as any Mugen fighting game.

Most of the animations are very lazily done, like the stretchy-armed cop's arm strecth.

The move lists are small, and the normals aren't particularly snappy.

It seems like it was made by a person who doens't understand the nitty-gritty details of how fighting games work.

There's a reason good indie fighting games are few and far between. It's that a decent fighting game is very difficult to make.

This game demonstrates that fact very well.

Buy Rivals of Aether instead.

Every character in this is a clone, and the hitboxes are strange, so you'll whiff attacks when you're too close, which makes the game feel less satisfying.

There's very little depth to this game, compared to similar games.

However, it has a very well done online mode, and it's easy to get into fights with other people, so that's a plus.
