Great game, very frustrating at times but also extremely rewarding. Remember to be kind to others even if they're doing bad.

I'm going go right off the bat and say this game is the definition of punishing. There are many dangerous things throughout the land such as Necromancers, Beasts, Undead, Orcs, Goblins etc. Many of which can cut down your company like they're mowing their front lawn. However, you have something that none of them can beat, your brain and the willingness to take down those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no matter what. You will not do well on your first play through, maybe not even your second or third. Those dangerous creatures and things throughout the land have many things going for them. Magic, strength, numbers, unlimited vitality, impenetrable armor etc. What you have though is equipment and tactics. Those two things will make or break you in a fight. Coming into the fight with the proper equipment is key to doing well in this game, along with some good rolls. Things are going to seem quite unfair your first time playing, don't worry though because thats how its supposed to be. Rome was not built in a day and scholars didn't learn their field within a year. Kicking this games ass will be a learning process and a frustrating one at that. But once you begin to understand the mechanics, your enemies, and yourself. you will be a neigh unstoppable force in Battle Brothers. There will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that happens but do not frieght because even if the situation seems hopeless there is still a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you give this game a ride because there really isn't many like it. Good luck, and remember to use your head.

Early Access Review
So far this game is really good and I would recommend anyone who loves rogue-lites or looter shooters like The Binding of Isaac, the original Risk of Rain, Borderlands, or Deep Rock Galactic to definitely pick this up.

This game makes a great transition to 3D. The first game was a 2D side-scroller and feels almost exactly like the first game. This is incredibly impressive since this is Hopoo Games' first 3D game. The game also has a decent amount of content for an early access release. There is a decent amount of items in the game along with a good selection of characters to play.

Multiplayer is also extremely easy to setup in this game compared to the last. The game does have an matchmaking system along with a way to get your friends in a lobby so you can play with them effortlessly without the need for 3rd party software like Hamachi.

One major grip I have with this game is performance issues which seems to happen on some people's PCs. While they seem to have been mitigated in recent patches I'm still have some nose dives in FPS to the point where the game is basically unplayable. This was a really big issue at launch but now it is much better.

Right now there is no endgame so you basically just play until you die. Still really fun especially with friends. Also make sure to join the Risk of Rain 2 discord, they provide a link in game. This will make you able to use voice chat with your teammates.

The Devs do have a road map for when they're going to release stuff so check that out. So far the developers seem to be doing a really good job at releasing patches for this game and ironing out some issues. This doesn't mean the game doesn't have any glitches or problems but they're definitely doing their best and doing a great job at it. Especially for their first 3D game they seem to be doing an amazing job at making this game really fun and an awesome successor to the original Risk of Rain.

This game is a perfect example of how bad graphics doesn't hinder gameplay. The art style for this game is ♥♥♥♥ but dont turn away. This game is incredibly complex and filled with tons of combat. The graphics in no way represent the gameplay of this game. You will die a lot since this game is a rogue like so beware if you hate these games. The deck building aspect of this game is awesome and feels like doing draft in Magic the gathering. So if you're into rogue likes, deck building, and card games you'll absolutely love this game.

If any of you love games like dungeons of dredmor, or dwarf fortress (including its adventure mode), or the original wasteland (minus its squad like aspect) you're going to love this game its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great. Also once you've played it (and if you liked it) please recomend it to get this game to overwhemingly positive to show how awesome this game is. The devs have been working on this game for years now and they have been making this game extremely good. So show thanks by recomending it to anyone who would love a niche game like this and give it a thumbs up to show its quality. Thanks :D!

Let me start off by saying this game if ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. The combats great, the music is awsome, and it works perfectly(despite being a Early Access game). While this game is in EA don't let that scare you away since the devs are very active.

This game does depart from the conventions of the roguelite genre. Instead of having prebuilt items they made guns and apparel procedurally generated like in borderlands. Also you have more control over what you get in this roguelite. This game makes you feel more in control of what character you want to build sinc you can choose from 3 different classes and some abilities. Not only that but levels usually will give you tons of weapons and apparel to choose from. You can also buy more weapons and apparel with scrap or boost weapons and apparel. This is very refreshing and a departure from what we usually get in roguelites.

The goal for each level is to destroy a certain number of generators to progress. Idk if this changes after the first boss but so far thats what you do in the first section of the game. After every 4 levels you get a boss which are extremly difficult. You also get to decide where you want to go after each level. Each level have three different characteristics size, difficulty, loot. Loot deterimines how much loot you'll get, size will make the level bigger, difficulty makes the enemies harder but they also drop better loot. Depending on the situation you're in the characteristics of these levels can be really crucial to how you'll progress in the game.

The game also has coop mode but its only local at the moment. The devs are thinking about making the game online. I haven't tried out multiplayer yet but Im assuming its awesome from what I 've experienced in singleplayer. Multiplayer isn't mandatory but hopefully we'll see online coop in the future maybe even with a matchmaking system.

Overall this game is really fun and if you're a fan of rogue lites or twin stick shooters you'll enjoy this game.
