As a hardcore battlefield fan I ignored this game for a long time based on bad first impressions and a justified overwhelmingly negative response from the community. As of recent i’ve seen this game all over social media and decided to bite the bullet and buy it as it’s on a 55% sale. My first impressions were pretty positive it’s a beautiful game with some nice new additions compared to previous titles and revamps that classic battlefield experience which I appreciated extremely. After a few matches I started to notice some small issues with a lack of players (not entirely the games fault) which causes a long queue time and some minor bugs. One of the things I noticed to be a major turn off is how Battlefield 2042 has suffered through the same fate as Call Of Duty Cold War. That being lack of attention to small details. Loading animations are dull, When running with a laser on a gun the laser proceeds to point forward despite your gun being pointed to the left, etc. There’s a lot of attention to detail missing from this game on top of the lack of weapon options, vehicle upgrade options amongst other things. Overall the game is still a pretty good experience and it’s definitely improved majorly since launch and i’m hoping it stays on this path of steady improvement, at the rate it’s going I see it only going uphill from here and may be a really good game in the future. With the game in its current state even with the improvements I can’t justify paying full price for the game, it’s really only worth buying on a 50% sale. Battlefield 2042 brings back the classic Battlefield experience while lacking some key features previous titles did extremely well. Overall it’s a 7/10 at it’s best but it has a lot of room to improve.
