I personally did not come from a background of sim golf, but the Golf Resort Tycoon series. Both had similar gameplay and have been looking for a game out there to help with that itch to one day play the classics again. Here is my review of GolfTopia:

Gameplay-
☑ Very good (Honestly probably the cleanest golf building mechanics out there, there is no golf building sim that does it better than Golftopia. No other game has both clean building mechanics AND fluidity to freely express yourself [versus pre-built sprites]. The game has an interesting feature where you also have to deal with pesky purple weeds, which can ruin your resort if you let the weeds grow out of control. Luckily there are drones and other offensive features to help fighting the weeds.
☐ Good
☐ Nothing special
☐ Okay
☐ Bad

Graphics-
☐ Masterpiece
☐ Beautiful
☑ Good (You aren't really playing this for the graphics, however what graphics are in the game are very aesthetic to the eyes with a balance of colors and light.)
☐ Will do
☐ Bad
☐ Awful

Audio
☑ Amazing (This soundtrack is so good, beautiful and calming background music to help you forget your frustrations, or if you are just looking to vibe)
☐ Very good
☐ Good
☐ Decent
☐ Not too bad
☐ Bad

Audience
☐ Kids
☑ Teens (I had a hard time rating this everyone because of the interactions when golfers freak out on each other, outside of that it's very tame)
☑ Adults
☐ Everyone

Story-
☐ Lovely
☐ Good
☐ Average
☐ Not great
☑ None (However the introduction to a scenario mode that would be awesome, no need for story mode since its a tycoon like game)

Difficult-
☐ Just press a bunch of buttons
☑ Easy (The base settings are pretty easy, don't know how difficult the harder settings are yet.
☐ Significant brain usage
☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master
☐ Not so easy
☐ Difficult
☐ Dark Souls

Grind-
☐ Nothing
☐ Only if you care about leaderboards/ranks
☐ Isnt necessary to progress
☐ A bit grindy sometimes
☐ Average grind level
☑ Above average grind level (Currently only on the first "prestige level", and it can take a bit of real time to get everything you so desire)
☐ Insanity

Game Time-
☐ Short
☐ Average
☐ Long
☐ Depends on you
☑ Endless (You play as long as you want to with a map, then once you are done rinse and repeat)

Price
☐ Just buy it
☑ Worth the price (If you are into the classics like Sim Golf or Golf Resort Tycoon series this is the game to itch that scratch to play, however it does take place in the future so take note with that. In my opinion it's fair price.)
☐ Wait for sale
☐ Maybe if you have some spare money left
☐ Not recommended

Overall I would rate GolfTopia an 8/10, and while this game is currently in early access, it definitely has so far been scratching that itch of nostalgia I've been craving.
