I enjoyed this game less than Dark Souls 2.

Everything prior to Morgott was semi-decent on my first playthrough, but everything after was horrendous and I still had a myriad of issues with the game regardless of my pre-Morgott experience:
- Bosses with unreactable attacks (Margit's light dagger, Godrick's wind spin, Malenia's 5000 dps scarlet rot pillar that spawns before she summons her flower clones, etc.).
- Massive area of effect explosions with no clear indication of how large their hitboxes will be (Magma Wyrm slams, Radagon's hammer AoEs, there are so many others that I don't want to list, these issues are EVERYWHERE).
- Attacks with 'telegraphs' so long that they may as well exist purely to jape the player into thinking an attack is going to happen sooner than it actually is (Margit's staff slam, basically everything Godrick does with his axe, and again, these issues are EVERYWHERE).
- Reused major bosses in evergaols and caves (Godefroy the Grafted and Astel, Stars of Darkness) which diminishes the impact of the original fights.
- Some minor bosses are reused upwards of 10 times (Erdtree Avatar, Ulcerated Tree Spirit).
- Very few proper 'fashion souls' options.
- Unclear story that I didn't care about whatsoever, with most of the lore being hidden in random item descriptions and obscure side quests.
- Every side quest is unintuitive and is often frustrating, especially Millicent's...
- Major content locked behind obscure secrets that essentially mandate hearing about them through word of mouth or wiki use (random albinauric dude in a Dark Souls 2 pot in a village in one of the many swamp areas).
- Hyperfocus on ash spirits and weapon arts which makes most of the other options feel quite irrelevant.
- The overall poor balancing that permeates the entire game.

My final goal was to reach New Game +7, and I made it to Maliketh on New Game +6 before I quit because it was beginning to damage my mental stability with how little fun I was having.

Why did I play the game for 282 hours? I wanted to see absolutely everything the game had to offer, and I , mostly, accomplished that goal.

I tried to enjoy it, I really did. I miss Dark Souls, so I'll be playing Dark Souls 3 again soon.
