This game is ok. It is fun. You get a few free things early on which is nice. You could pay much if desired. So far I have not spent anything as I a very broke overall and must choose wisely what to spend real money on.

The game is fun but a) not realistic at all or b) not historical at all. It is fun, and the real world ships are in it, but most thingsin the game are so abstracted that they are not historical or realistic. for example, a ship down to 10% health has full functionality.

Anyway, I usually fight bot battles with as many players on my side as join. battles are 8 v 8. I am not very good at the game but sometimes I do well.

As of right now, fun game. (I noticed many of my older reviews are dated and not as accurate as when I made them years ago. ah well.)

This is a really cool game. The AI is very good. It has many units to choose from. It is not a base building type RTS. You get units in a battle group and then use requisition points to bring them into battle.

The AI is ruthless. They are so much better than I am at recon. Both sides are able to spot the smoke from long ranged artillery but the player has to watch that area. Then you fire on the position to take out the guns. The AI will do this as well.

The AI will also hit you in the flanks as it is very good at getting line of sight. Some players are pretty good at this game. I am not good at this game, but I find it fun.

The campaigns are good. Moving your units on the strategic map to cut the supplies off for enemy units is the key to winning. Also, leaving some units behind to cover unimportant areas and moving other powerful units quickly down the roads is how you get to the objectives. Frontal attacks into dug in positions are unwise but necessary sometimes. I usually let the AI control my land units in tactical combat as I am horrible at doing that. I then use air units and help win the battle. I have won several times in the campaigns.

I practice in skirmish mode against weaker enemy battle groups. I am getting a little better at playing this game.

This is a fun game.

This is a good DLC pack. You get to engage in some important battles of the Pacific, like Coral Sea, Midway, Leyte and Okinawa. The battles are very good.

However, I only ever bought one carrier. And there seemed to me to be more battles needed in the campaign. However, the battles you do get are fun. Recommended for all OOB WWII players.

This is a really good turn based strategy and tactical combat game. It is very deep. Whoever said the various factions are similiar was dead wrong. For example, the Vanguard are the typical space marines and have no close combat units at all. Meanwhile, other races have several close combat units. I like the Vanguard so far.

There are different races and different special technology groups to combine. This makes a lot of variation in the sides to play as and against. Each unit may have up to 3 modifications which makes things really interesting.

The economy is actually quite deep. There are different terrains and features in every sector. I really like the sector mechanics of Planetfall.

When I first started playing the game I was squashed easily. Then I started playing on smaller maps and with continents. This gave me time to learn the game system, which takes a while.

There are many things to discuss about this game. Safe to say it is quite deep and fun.

Just finished this DLC pack.

It is very good. For those who never played the ancient Panzer General, this DLC has quite a few good battles. One reviewer I read was upset because of the Norway invasion battle. Um, many players might not have played that battle in PG way back then so I think including it is a good thing.

OOB:WWII (wow) is a good game. Back in the day, PG defending units would mostly defend. In OOB:WWII, enemy units move all over the place, they try to attack you where you are weak. This is a good thing. No AI is going to be as good as live opponent, but OOB:WWII AI handles battles very well.

In Blitzkrieg, you start small but things escalate quickly. Sure, you have to fight all those battles in Poland, Norway, Benelux, France, Yugoslavia and Greece. These settings are not always the best terrain for an invader but that is exactly what happened in history. The Germans did invade these locations.

Tanks! that is this campaign's theme .... all tho the infantry will pull lots of weight on its own ... you need plenty of units. Tanks cost 2 inf in a battle, so decide for yourself, yes?

Eventually you go to Russia .... . .. and.... wow! battles are huge. The last battle, Moscow, is really big and demanding.

The Blitzkrieg DLC scenario is a really good pack. I had fun.

Make certain you know what you are getting here. That being said, this is an awesome game!

OOBWWII is much like the ancient Panzer General games. However, there are defensive battles, many obscure campaigns and - usually - many turns to capture objectives.

I really like the game. It is currently my favorite (for now). The campaigns are really good. My favorite (and first) campaign is the USMC campaign. it is lots of fun. I have played it thru several times now. Will play it again once I try more of the others.

Own them all (red army is tomorrow). I have tried Pacific US and Kreigsmarine so far, and am close to trying some land only campaigns. It plays well. The music is different in each scenario. Battles are fun and not too long.

This is a great starter for the series.

Get this! If you like Panzer General type games, this DLC for OOB:WWII is a MUST.

You get plenty of time to complete the missions. OOB is like that. +++++

This is a land DLC, and you get the USMC. These guys really rock. The base game, OOB:WWII is now free, and this little add-on pack is not pricey, even when not on sale.

There are many

good battles. Some are Invade+defend, while others are all-out attack.

In most of the engagements you have to get an airfield fast or you will lose your planes (if you deploy them early). Sometimes you get to build the air bases.

Supply is also an issue. Amphibious operations are harder than starting on land, so you need your supply ships and to capture enemy bases for added supply.

Although your core forces are land and a few air, in some battles you get a few 'free' naval vessels to command = Nice!

Note to devs: Semper Fi, Fi short version is pronounced "fie", not "fee".

I like it so far. Exploration seems a little different, and expansion is slow, as it should be. The music is decent, and the interface is good. Your colonies are displayed on the left of the main screen instead of a separate panel. There seems to be a lot of customization for your species.

I have only played a little so far, but am going to go back and play some more. For now I would say this is a stable and fun game. It should not be as long as Stellaris, but that is ok to me.

edit: later in the game things really pick up! this is a great modern space 4x game.

One of the best games ever! I hope FO5 uses something like the perk system found in this game and not skills like FO3/NV. This game is awesome. A very good shooter, exploration, music, gathering and character development make this game the best.

This is really good. Each dig site has several chapters of story and they seem very well laid out. Not all dig sites give a major artifact but I like them just the same.

The four music tracks are very good. They are just a little different than most of the others without being drastically different. I like the DLC theme song, "Abyss".

Minor artifacts can be sold for about 500 energy credits. These are really nice. There are other things to be done with minor artifacts but several seem to be linked to new techs because I have not discovered all the things you can do with minor artifacts.

I think the dig sites add just enough extra to the already long list of anomolies to add that extra touch to this story driven game. Stellaris is all about the journey of exploration and buildings a star kingdom and this DLC is a good addition.

I should mention dig sites take quite a while to finish.

The major artifacts have a bonus for your kingdom. The one I recovered needed influence to activate the power.

Relics DLC has a decent price and is a good DLC pack for the game.
