Endless Legend is a unique 4x turn based fantasy game. The map has regions, and to own a region means owning all of the reources in that region. Regions are gained by building or conquering cities. There are nice unit customizations, and it is possible to acquire minor faction units as well.

The game has decent graphics. Exploring the map is fun. Ruins give payouts or quests. There are neat quests in the game.

The AI is not he toughest. I usually auto fight my battles, but the AI puts up more of a challenge in tactical combat. Range of units is a little low, and manuevering is vital to win.

Endless Legend is a fun game to play.

This is a really fun game. I like the tactical battles for this game. I have quite a few turn based fantasy 4x games, and the tactical battles for AoW have always been fun. There are lots of unit types. Also, players get to cast many spells while playing the game, both tactical and stratgic. Leader customization is great, and starting new scenarios is neat due to all of the choices availble.

AoW III is also a very pretty game. The graphics and sound are phenomenal. There are spells that allow the player to change the terrain. Tactical maps also look good, with a lot of environment colors.

Overall AoW III is a good, fun game.

Pandora: First Contact

Well I have played two games now. This game is a simplified Civilization. Here are some thoughts:

1. Tile improvements. There is only one improvement of each type. So no irrigation or railroads. Very nice and simple. Also, population is not placed on the map in the city screen. Very easy to run cities.

2. Design units. Units may be designed and older units refitted. Pretty neat. Choices are Gun, Armor and Special for each unit type. Units are not tied to cities and only have low cost gold upkeeps.

3. Projects instead of wonders. These are neat Once 'built' the project applies to your nation.

4. Universal Food, Minerals, Research and Gold. Yep, everything is shared. Population growth is based on Growth of each city and does not count city food. Except morale, it is city-specific.

5. No Research Item Trading. YAY! This stops the AI from catching up to the player. Only research points are involved in 'trades'. Same with money. (but there are diplomacy gifts).

Pandora does not take too long to play. I use Slow pace and each game was 10-12 hours long. I had research victories both times, but was close to a military victory in the second game. (I tend to avoid wars, they are messy. My wars are also short. As in over. :) ) Graphics are pretty good. The game is more concentrated on city buildings and fighting. Oh, there are also some neat events within the game, mainly dealing with the local bugs and some space invaders. Overall, Pandora is really neat. I like it WAY better than Civ games.

Sci-Fi theme. Units are really neat, as are the technologies.

Sengoku is very similar to Crusader Kings (I've not played CK, but am familar with it). There are characters and lines of succession to worry about. Creating or getting vassals is important as there are about 100 factions in the Japan of this time era. In order to win, you need to control 50% of Japan. This really can't be done as outright conquest. For one thing, your provincial leaders will get angry if you have too many provinces. So, diplomacy and some warfare is what the game is all about.

This is a complicated game. There are hint boxes, but only the most diehard of turn based strategy fans will stick with this game. Dealing with all the various characters and factions is overwhelming. Oh, you can also build some structures in provinces, but they take years to finish. There is also religion involved.

Anyway, I am sure it is fun, but very complicated and involved.

Horizon is a very good space 4X game similar to Master of Orion. Unlike Endless Space, there are no star lanes. Ships have unlimited range and the game is more open. There are up to 10 enemy species, and they act differently. Wars are common, almost from the start.

There are two types of games. Normal mode is the campaign, were everyone else starts with a lot and there are missions to perform as the humans. Classic mode has everyone at tech level 1 and with only one world. I've played classic twice now and had fun.

Horizon is a little challenging, especially at the start of a new game. Oh, in classic mode you can elect yourself as Leader of the Galaxy.

This game is still in beat, but has a great development team. I've already exchanged email with the lead programmer. Anyway, I love it!

This is fun!

PD is my first Tower Defense game. I like the card aspect of the game, as wellas talents. Graphics are pretty cool, the monsters look good. I think these are the best kobolds I have ever seen. I did read that there is some grinding involved, but I've had fun replaying the first few maps just to get three stars and the achievements, so no problem for me.

This is fun. FE is faster moving than Eador and there are more options for levelling up the Heroes. You alos get more Heroes than in Eador. Eador is slow, and I have only played it on tiny shards, so the Warrior Blitz tactic worked there. I think FE:LH is a good game. Of course, it does not have the monster units found in Eador, but it takes a long time in Eador to get them.

FE has city building as well. The cities can become one of several types: Town for $$, Conclave for research and Fortress for unit production. Oh, and FE has research. I went thru the whole research trees in my first game. In the second I had Slow Research selected, and it was nive and slow.

Your Heroes may select from multiple paths. I created a Leader with Life and Water speels and healed my units to victory many times. I put another Champion in the same army and he was the tank warrior, very cool.

I like playing FE:LH.

This is pretty cool. It is free to play. Eventually, you can unlock all of the heroes with eternity shards. I paid $20 to get the heroes I wanted, kind of pricey. Most heroes are about $10, as are the costumes.

Anyway, I find the game fun. It is a little clunky at times because it is all mouse driven - many times I miss the target by running past then, but it is fun. I currently have Captain America, Wolverine, Black Widow and DareDevil. I'd like to get Enna Frost, Hulk, Scarlet Witch and maybe Thor. Iron Man has a lot of costumes.

I started a supergroup, anyone is welcome. It is called AVGF-Assemble. My in game id is cougartgr.

XCOM is an excellent turn based game. If you like this type of game, seriously consider UFO Extraterretrials Gold. It is a little more modern, has more technology and you get to level up your soldiers. There is also UFO Trilogy, which is not on Steam, but is cheaply imported from the UK. All these games run fine in Win 7 64-bit. (Two of the Trilogy games do not like Intel graphics.)

Great turn based game similar to Civilization, but in space. The game has star lanes. Colonizing planets is the key to victory. Of course, you get to build each start sytem up with structres. All buildings in a system affect the entire system.

Designing start ships is fun. Tactical battles are good, you get to watch the battle. Cards are chosen for the three different phases, long, medium and short. Planetary invasion is both bombardment based (takes time) and troop based (instant results).

Endless Space has a nive lineup of races to choose from. Also, Heroes become available in the game as you play. They can be assigned to fletts or planetary systems. Either way, the heroes definitely have an impact

Endless Space is not a short game, and is fun if you like building things and sci-fi in space.
