I swear on my life I have never cheated even once in multiplayer games since I joined Steam over 10 years ago. I preordered BF 2042 and have spent over 200 hours on it since launch. Two days ago I installed it back after being away for over half a year because the crossover with Dead Space seemed fun. I played it for 20 mins and logged off, and the next morning I was told I had been banned permanently due to cheating. EA support declined all 4 of my appeals and kept saying they did the right thing.

Will never support your games again.

I do not care about microtransaction in this game, as all items can be obtained in game through a bit of exploration and none of them is essential in order to progress. While I admit there are severe performance issues at the moment due to GPU not being properly utilized, I believe they are only temporary and will get fixed in a month or two.

Regarding the game itself, it is fantastic. Having played the previous game on console, I was a bit worried that Dragon's Dogma 2 would carry over some stuff that I found really annoying, including filler side quests, strict limits on stamina, the difficulty of using fast travel, etc. Fortunately, Dragon's Dogma 2 fixed all of these while inheriting what makes the previous game fun. It is filled with interesting and substantive side content that adds a ton of depth to the world. The stamina limit is not as strict now, meaning you can run a lot longer and perform more actions before having to take a break.

I can absolutely understand why the dev said they wanted to create an immersive experience, and I think they totally nailed it. Most of the time the game does not tell you directly what to do, requiring you to think creatively and to truly explore the world. For instance, at one point you will be asked to apprehend someone, but it does not tell you how. It could be a bit confusing unless you think deeper and realize that you can grab anyone using the "RT" on your controller. Besides, unlike many other games in the genre, there is no question mark above NPC's heads to indicate available quests. Oftentimes, NPCs would come up to you instead if they have some favors to ask of you, or you would stumble upon unexpected quests by interacting with some random NPCs. Similarly, there are no dotted lines appearing on the map guiding you like a GPS. You have to navigate the world on your own or with the help of your pawns, who happen to be extremely helpful. This really creates a huge sense of exploration. Moreover, the fast travel system normally seen in other games that lets you teleport to anywhere through a loading screen is replaced by the oxcart station, which allows you to sit on an oxcart and travel to your destination in real time. While you can still skip the process by choosing to "doze off", you could still get ambushed by monsters along the road and forced into battles before continuing the journey. Furthermore, time actually progresses in this game. Your food can go bad and some of the quests you put off doing can lapse and result in failure. There are many more features like these that create an overall immersive experience when brought together.

In terms of combat, you can always believe in Capcom. I can confidently say that this game has one of the best combat among all the ARPGs ever released. I have tried four vocations thus far and I thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. Each vocation comes with many different skills and equipment. Most of the skills feel impactful and extremely satisfying to use, and the actions feel smooth, natural, and responsive. I also had a blast climbing onto cyclops or griffins and stabbing them in the eyes, and let's be frank, not a lot of games allow you to do this. I highly recommend creating a team with different vocations, as each of them has a role to play in combat. More importantly, you can switch between vocations rather easily and try out different playstyles without a significant time investment.

Overall, Dragon's Dogma 2 is one of the best ARPGs I have ever played. It is a unique, immersive experience that I will recommend to anyone who enjoy this genre. I personally give it a 9.5/10.

Still holds up pretty well in terms of gameplay after 15 years. Truly a gem in the survival horror genre.

This is hands down a must-play for any fans of the survival horror genre. Everything from the original RE 4 has been reworked from the ground up and improved substantially. The punchy gunplay, physical attack and the ability to block and parry take the combat experience to the next level. The tasteful use of soundtrack and smart puzzle design also made my 20-hour playthrough (hardcore + most side quests completed) a thoroughly enjoyable journey without a dull moment. 10/10

A boss in this game literally humiliated me by giving me an actual steam achievement that says I spent 15 hours in an alien strip club. Best boss fight I've had in a long while. 10/10

Pros:
1. Satisfying gunplay. Sniper rifles aren't the only weapons that feel good to shoot
2. Large and complex maps with lots of places to explore
3. Very detailed slow-time kill cams that allow you to see your bullets pierce through enemies organs
5. Invasion mode is a nice addition to gameplay
6. Enough contents to keep you entertained for at least 30 hours

Cons:
1. The graphics are kinda outdated by today's standard (still acceptable to me though)
2. The anti-aliasing is basically non-existent
3. Only a handful of maps for multiplayer
4. Not enough weapons and no shotguns

Overall rating: 7.5/10

Would've loved this game if there weren't so many cheap jumpscares.

Rough around the edges in its current state, but easily one of the best games I've ever played.
