I usually write joke reviews, this is not one of them.

For The King holds a special place in my heart, it is not my most played game but most certainly my favourite one available on Steam.

It incorporates a bit of everything I enjoy! Simple yet very detailed visuals, cute in its own way! RPG and Roguelike elements that are not overwhelmingly difficult to understand yet challenging and enjoyable! A multitude of weapons and a wide array of obtainable loot! A turn based combat system allowing you to pause at virtually any time! Multiple gamemodes with local and online coop support!

It does include an RNG system and some dice rolls might seem unfair at first, but the odds of getting a successful roll can be upgraded, with enough preparation, the right gear and some strategy you can almost guarantee a successful fight. Sometimes a strategic error or a bad roll can be very punishing but this game is about adapting and making the best out of a bad situation!

This game is not easy but it was never meant to be which is good because it makes achieving victory a lot more satisfying compared to other games where stats are just numbers you can overlook and abilities don't matter. This game is however not overly difficult either once you start learning about abilities, skills, stats, buffs and debuffs!

For The King forces you to think ahead, anticipate the enemies next moves and adapt to the situation at any moment! Victory is not the goal, the journey is, victory is just the reward!

If you don't fill up the vents with huge amounts of unnecessary extra loot that you won't need for your escape but looks useful, then I am sorry to announce that you're not playing the game right!
