Good game that does a lot to keep turning everything on it's head. The game is mostly a pretty cool deckbuilding game with some escape room kinda stuff, and it changes things up pretty often to keep everything very fresh.

This game reeaaallllyy nails its atmosphere which I liked a lot. There's a lot more to the game than there seems, but I'll stop there bc spoilers :)

Really nice game to vibe to and get "kind words" from strangers. The letters can't be very long so don't expect to get / give super constructive advice from / to people, but sometimes just having someone say something nice feels good.

Also the devs are super nice, I reported something weird in the game, and it was fixed the same day. I even logged in to a message thanking me for apparently finding a bug, and I thought it was really nice that they would respond to that :)

I wanted to play this game after seeing all the voiceover memes people made for it, only to find out the actual game is just as psychotic.

The story is about serious stuff like human trafficking / war as an industry, but then Raiden will yeet a building sized mech across a city by one of its fingers and fight a guy who's going off about memes and the right hand rule of electromagnetism the minute after.

No idea how a game can have a story like this but this one sure does and I'm happy for it. The gameplay's pretty solid, but I thought that it felt kinda awkward to play when you're fighting more than one enemy. There's some enemies that can die in one heavy attack, but they're not the most common and it feels really weird fighting 3 guys at once that all have big attacks and take forever to kill all the time. All the fights that stay one on one are super cool though

Aside from that, graphics are real cool for an almost 10 year old game, even though there's no resolution support above 1080p which is weird. The music slaps hard too go listen to it on spotify :)

Improves on the mechanics of the previous games, and Nero feels really good to play. I think I liked 1 and 3 better overall still, but this one's still fun. I just liked the personalities of the other games a bit better, but this one still has everything that you'd expect.

You play through most of this game as Nero, who has a cool arm! He's really fun to fight bosses as, because when they're in a staggered state you can grab them and mess them up with your demon arm! Later on you'll swap to playing as Dante and basically backtrack through every level you played as Nero, but it's still fun. Dante has different interactions with bosses, plays much differently, and the levels are condensed and spiced up a bit for your return trip. I've seen complaints about how you're basically playing the same game twice, but I'd say that the levels you play as either character were definitely different enough for me.

I wasn't a big fan of the final boss and final few levels of this game though. No spoilers ofc, but it had one of the most boring boss fights I've ever played, and one of the last levels was just a filler episode where u moved along, maybe fought waves of enemies, and just had repeat bosses appear to fight for no reason before the end.

The short review tho:
Gameplay and music are very cool. They started to feel stale when I was finishing the game up, but still fun overall.

Characters are pretty nice and wacky, although most of them lack depth which kinda hurts the game later on.

And idk how I felt about the story. I really liked the turn it took at first, but it kinda fell flat really quickly after that, since it mostly dragged the same note out for the rest of the game. It gets kinda meta which is cool, but then it kinda stops there and doesn't do much else interesting :/

Overall I thought it was pretty solid. Story definitely didn't resonate with me, but I liked the rest of the game enough

Good game. Imo it doesn't rival the vibes of the first 2, but the setting is still pretty interesting. The gameplay is good and Elizabeth is a really good character. The story is pretty good and the ending is almost amazing.

*almost* amazing. It fell off and made me want to drown myself. Or maybe it was just too good for my pea brain to comprehend idk.

Easily worth buying on sale just for the campaign. You're not going to find very intense characterization or story, but this game has some absolute banger levels, especially in the second half. It's pretty much like playing a really cool action movie.

Haven't spent much time on the multiplayer yet, but I like it better than the first game so far. Seems like something i can have a lot of fun with for a while, and so far screwing around with the grappling hook has been great. It's been a while since I've played something with fun deathmatch multiplayer, and this is definitely one of the more fun ones.

Great game! Overall, I ended up liking this one more than the first. Most of the new characters are great, the cases are more interesting, and it builds a bit on the story from the first which is really cool. I really liked Makoto as a protagonist, but Hajime grew on me a lot and I ended up liking him even more by the end. It was a little slow in the beginning, but aside from that I think it's a solid improvement over the first in most ways.
