Nowhere near done so I'll edit when finished, but this game goes so hard. It's been a really long time since I started a game and had severe brainrot compelling me to play more of it every day.

Soundtrack is amazing, all of the monsters are fun and cool, the art-style is refreshing and pretty unique, battle system feels new and novel, and you get to beat up landlords. I bought it on a whim since I thought it had the coolest trailer I've ever seen (probably not exaggerating for me at least lol) and have been very happy so far :)

Thoughts after finishing: still kinda recommend

I feel like the game really lost steam near the end for me sadly. Every possible partner has their own questline which was cool, but they all share a general structure so it gets really repetitive and annoying trying to clear each archangel for their quests. The first time you fuse is a very cool story moment, but it happens again at the end of every partner quest. It's annoying how this goes into the lategame, and this means that you'll have to give up fusing for a long time if you want to try certain partners which kinda stinks since fusion is a bit of a central game mechanic after the tutorial.

And while the battle system is a cool new thing, it really goes stale by the end. You can make some goofy "nuke everything immediately" builds to end fights immediately, but aside from that I feel like strategies don't change much between fights, and the mechanics of building energy makes things a bit slow if you're not cheesing. It's cool how easy it is to transfer moves between monsters, but also means they're fairly standardized so you're rarely unlocking moves that feel very special or even much like upgrades.

Everything I praised earlier is still def true though, I especially love the battle artstyle. I'd just recommend focusing on the main quest if you play, so you'll still be having fun with the game by the time you finish it.

Really fun for a deckbuilder. At least for the first few runs luck doesn't seem to be a big deal, and there's a crazy amount of unexpected synergies that you can get with all your items that make the game feel really clever.

Games like this give me life. Costs next to nothing, it's a nice little game that's fun to play without needing to complicate anything.

Early Access Review
Even the roguelite genre isn't safe from carcinization.

This game is very much early access, so there's a lot of things that aren't fully implemented and will probably need heavy balance adjustments.

But even as it is, the game is so much fun and I actually find it charming how a lot of things in the game aren't completely finished yet. The systems that are here have a ton of potential, the movement is surprisingly great (and getting upgraded very soon), and the way items stack is a bit insane rn making it easy to have a busted build once you get later in the run. I think it's already well worth its price as it is now and it's hard to believe that it's primarily made by one dev

*boots up game* LET'S ♥♥♥-*gunshot*-KING GOOOOOOOOO
*some more demonic screaming while things blow up during the intro*

This is a really cool game that will make your knuckles glow neon white as you death grip your mouse to Ace levels on your first try, all for the sweet payoff of hearing Steve Blum say "No scoped it!!!"
