The game is great. Setting aside it rough start with performance and babies who cry about microtransation, The game is actually good. The lip syncing isn't great but by no means is it as bad as mass effect andromida, but you aren't playing the game for dialogue either. You are playing it to run through an open world and kill ♥♥♥♥ as you level up your character, learn new skills, make connections with other characters, and this game nails that all. I haven't playing it enough to know if its a $70 title or not. But it is by not stretch a bad game, nor are the micro transactions intrusive or even a problem at all.

Out of beta, still unoptimized. Both my friend and I with a 1080 and 2080 super, can't run a single game without crashing. Even without crashing, you can put it on the lowest settings and it still takes 3 minutes of input lag while loot loads. Literally the worst optimized game on steam.

If you like survival games like this, play the new game Green Hell.
If you like the idea of water survival, play Subnautica.
If you like the idea of water survival but Subnautica is too different, play Raft.
If you absolutely must play this game, here are my immediate frustrations
-You have to load a cutscene to watch your plane crash, wooh. Then you HAVE to swim out of the plane and onto a life raft which takes maybe 5 seconds, a raft that you don't even climb onto, you touch it and then another loading screen. Big waste of time.
-Once you are in game you have to paddle your raft to shore which the steering is uncomfortable and I just didn't like it. Then you have to pull your raft onto shore which runs into-
-If your character is in 2 feet of water, BETTER START SWIMMING
-Beginning quests are hand holdy
-beginning quests isn't prioritized right, catch a crab before making a fire and a shelter????
-Inventory system is confusing at first.
-beginning quests makes you make knife, then refined knife, then kill crab, instead of using a much more effective spear.
-caught crab, "skinned" crab??? skewered crab over fire with a stick I pulled out of my magical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
-crab is done cooking, collect crab. Crab is still textured the same as raw crab. Will eventually eat raw crab thinking its cooked crab if I have both in my inventory at the same time.

Final thoughts, I got this game when it very first came out and had very high hopes for it. However in the 15 minutes of playing it I immediately wanted the old version back. I feel like the developers have a great idea, just don't know how to execute it right.
It does have a temperature meter though which I thought was really nifty and accurate to survival.

Play tutorial? ♥♥♥♥ tutorial I've watched every episode of Survivorman 5 times.
Starts game, finds friend, starts to build house, rattlesnake 5 feet from our "house". "We don't have anything ranged to attack it with" *watches friend through ax at snake, has snake for dinner. 5 minutes later, same snake on same tree 5 feet away is back. It's time to move.
Finds cave, guarded my scorpion, this will work as new house, gets stung every time we enter cave by infinite respawning scorpion. It's time to move.
Finds snails, cooks snails, escargot is good, bad snails, escargoing to the bathroom constantly
Found abandon "huts", new home, builds nice mud house, feeling accomplished, jaguar starts making frequent visits, gets stuck on rock, get's killed by continuelly throwing ax at face. Jaguar for dinner.
Haven't had any visits from natives lately after I chased them through "the forbidden butthole" and killed them. Maybe I killed ALL of them. Now king of jungle. Enjoys a drink along the lake edge.

Waste of time. I've spent more time loading the game just to get instantly disconnected, FROM SOLO PLAY, than I have actually playing the game. You have to pay to play other games, which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Just play DayZ, H1Z1, PLayerunknownsbattleground, literally any of their compettition is better than them.
