A two-dimensional sandbox adventure is the sum up of this pixelated video game that is Terraria. From start the player is dropped into a generated world with little time to gear up and learn how to navigate, and defend or attack various enemies. Depending on experience the more run throughs accomplished will generate smoother and less aggravating encounters for each new game. Whilst for those who still have issues to comprehend the basics should look to the wiki pages as the game does not have a clear tutorial to help beginners. Only a lone wander may give some random tips to help from time to time it still will give confusion. The game has many similar aspects to Minecraft such as its destructible, and breaking blocks ro collect resources like stone, wood, and iron used in making amazing gear or build structures to use as shelter from the numerous bosses faced throughout. More precious materials are found when exploring the deeper that a player explores into the world. A day and night cycle is followed and exploration during the morning is safer to collect resources. While a key difference is the use of a developed and sturdy village to house specific NPC being used to be merchants, healers, and other supportive services. The game has an incredible crafting system which is crucial to the game and to progress with certain tools. With a slick retro 2D display that makes it stick out among it's competiton especially its familiar sandbox gameplay and emphasis on combat and adventure that proves to be satisfying.
