Alright, queue times are gone and the core gameplay is pretty good. They're rolling out patches now, which are well needed but they are definitely working on the game in a positive direction. I'd still wait for release unless you're a maniac like me and want to be part of the EA process. Game right now requires a lot of patience.

One of the best "bang for your buck" games I've ever played. It's simple on the surface but actually complex once you start getting into it. It's hard but fair. You can really feel this sense of progression as you start getting new characters, unlocking runes and making it through the darkness levels. You'll have to learn how to min-max your build every time and it'll be slightly different every time you play it, but that's the charm. Buy this game, it's permanently on sale.

I love this game. However, it's a tentative recommendation. If you're new: You'll have to find guides elsewhere, very little is actually explained and it's been like that since it first went into beta. The gameplay and the promise of good lore/story might sink it's hooks into you but the longer you play the more you'll see the cracks start to show.

The game has improved a great deal from the first "beta" but has somehow made things worse in other ways. Warframe used to have this sense of a deep lore, with world building, and it was exciting when they dropped riddles and the prime trailers (which are almost nonexistent now). When the BIG story moments happened they hit hard, like in your soul hard (if you were invested like I was) and it meant something. Doesn't feel like that as much anymore. Maybe the burnout took me, maybe the quality of the story telling dropped. Judging from how the codex entries stopped have stories in them, it's probably the latter.

But, if you're just starting out, you'll have a ton of stuff to get through. I hope you have a second monitor for the wiki and Youtube guides. Good luck in chat, the community isn't what it used to be. Not that it's all bad now, but the chats have started to become more toxic. For an MMO you'll be motivated to play solo a lot. Even just farming experience (or "Mastery") on the normal farming spots might get you some flack if you're not optimized for speed.

The game can be played totally F2P, but you'll pay with your time instead. Unless it's a cosmetic that you want from Tennogen, which are often significantly better than the cosmetics DE has probably put out. (Seriously, there are some very talented artists in this community.) You can pick up a second or third job to fund your spending habits in game, it's not too demanding unless you want EVERYTHING. That being said, if you're going to spend money of platinum: take two weeks off from the game and you'll probably get a discount on buying Plat when you log back in.

The second-to-second gameplay is the biggest draw. The movement and shooting are near perfect and you can immerse yourself in it and just enter a flow state. Which is great.

Now for the bad news. Content Islands: this is the majority of the progression systems in game and they are barely, if at all, tied to each other. Reputation grinds that are time gated by your account rank, open worlds that have they're own systems of progressions and you might get a weapon or two after days or weeks of rep grinding. Grinding, that's the lifeblood of this game, get used to it, it's not going anywhere. You might grind the same boss 500 times looking for a part to build a warframe or weapon you want to try out and still not get it. OR you could get lucky and get everything on the third or forth clear, which is the minimum for the vast majority of things. So you'll be motivated to play as efficiently as possible, even if that's not how you want to play. Oh, and most of the warframes are dead in arrival and they'll get buffed or nerffed shortly after their release. Prime variations used to be a big achievement, now they're often easier to get than the base model frames. But hey, play how you want.

Warframe can be a great game at times and a total slog all at once. You'll get hyped up by DE announcing some new warframe or gameplay system then be totally letdown when it comes out, then months later it'll be enjoyable, but still not what they were hyping up. DE is a great developer, and they used to be really involved with the community. I used to watch the dev streams religiously, now they don't happen enough for me to care. It's also a sad thing to know that I've seen an entire batch of content creators for the game just get bored and leave, which leave room for new creators and I guess it's a good thing the game has made it this long, but it's still sad.

tl;dr - The game isn't what it used to be, you missed that train. But it's still fun and you should try it out.

Chill and Relaxing. Pretty refreshing new take for an "adult" game. Looking forward to a full release. Character design is pretty solid. Will probably make most people horny.

Thought I'd try and play again after the 1.5 update, and for a solid 30 minutes it was great! Graphics were better, frame rate was a solid 60fps, the holographic koi fish fish were moving, the pop-in was acceptable, and only "some" of the NPCs were T-posing. I decided to start a new save and it was going pretty well until the car shoot out with Jackie where there was no audio coming from my gun. After the van chasing us crashed, so did the game! "Corrupted Files" the error says. Ok, so I run the "fix it" option. Doesn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled. No the game crashes at the title screen. Some how this is the worst experience I've had with the game since launch some 16 months later on the "significant amount of improvements" update.

This game is not worth the normal $60 price tag. Never was. Never will be. I could see buying this game for $30, but I'd argue it's barely worth a $20 investment and that's IF you can even get the game to run. I have a decent desktop set-up that runs every other game in my library on high to ultra setting perfectly fine.

Now, I know it says I have 62.5 hrs on record in the game. Straight up not accurate. Probably closer to 12 hours with the game play I actually had. I tried very hard to enjoy this game around launch. It would play for a little bit with numerous bugs but it was playable enough to get through some of the story while having to replay several sections because the auto-save stopped working and it was crash without warning.

This game is the biggest letdown I've ever experienced in gaming and I was once hype for Fallout 4. I'm glad some people can play it and enjoy it, but bottom line this isn't the game I was sold on and now I can't even play the shell of the game I once had. Not worth the money, time or effort to play.

Cyberpunk 2077 is also the reason I don't play games on launch anymore. Thanks CDPR.

TL;DR - Game worked better than ever after the 1.5 update then crashed and now crashes on title screen. Can't recommend even with the half-off price tag. Buy alcohol instead.
